SM Shetty, MGV School impress

Mumbai, January 23 SM Shetty High School (Powai), Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir (Bandra) and Nandadeep High School (Goregaon) gave outstanding performances in kabaddi on the opening day of the fifth inter-school sports meet on Wednesday.

SM Shetty thrashed Sant Dnyaneshwar (Kandivli) 41-11 and MG Vidyamandir routed Thakur Shyamnarayan (Kandivli) 44-12, while Nandadeep literally toyed with SVM English 56-3 in the girls section.

In the boys section Nandadeep beat SVM English 63-13 and MG Vidyamandir downed Thakur Shyamnarayan (Kandivli) 54-15.

Meghana Thakur and Pooja Rai gave allround display for SM Shetty and Meenal Jadhav and Trupti Sonawane excelled for Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir. Savita Waghmare and Ashwini Baikar guided AB Goregaonkar 33-30 in a tight contest in the girls section.

Their cournterpart Jyotsana Bawkar who gave a sterling display had to end on the losing side.
