SNDT’s 57th annual convocation confers degrees, diplomas to 18,400 students

Mumbai, March 5 The 57th Annual Convocation ceremony of the SNDT Women’s University conferred various degrees and diplomas to 18,400 students.

The event which was held at the Churchgate campus of the institute on Tuesday included students from the faculties of arts, social science, fine arts, commerce, science, library and information science, education, home science, medical science, technology, management studies and social work.

“The degrees that you have acquired are a testimony of your capacity to think independently and take initiatives in various fields. But graduation is not the only test. Many appraisals await you in life which you will have to face with the same if not greater seriousness,” said Ganesh Apte, executive vice-president of Larsen & Toubro Limited. Apte, while giving the keynote address.

96 awards were also given across several disciplines to the passing out students — Namrata Phalke (all round best student of the university for 2006-07); Safira Azmi (first in BA exam); Anita R Yadav (first in BCom exam) and Vrinda Raut (first in master of library and information science exam) among others
