SOPU activist booked on charges of assault

Chandigarh, February 9 Chandigarh Police today booked Amandeep Multani, a student of DAV College, Sector 10, on charges of assault, rioting and outraging religious feelings.

A Mohali Phase X resident, Buland Singh, said to be an activist of Students Organisation of India, was allegedly attacked with a sharp-edged weapon and badly assaulted on the college campus by Multani and Gokul Setia, on February 7 at about 6 pm.

After injuring Buland Singh, the two accused fled from the spot. Buland Singh sustained injuries and was admitted to GMCH 32. While Setia was arrested on the charges, Multani is yet at large. Multani is also the president of Students Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU) for DAV College, Sector 10.
