New Delhi, July 22: The hunt for MPs between Samajwadi Party and the BSP continued on Monday, with Mulayam Singh Yadav, who watched proceedings in Parliament from the visitors’ gallery briefly, meeting rebel MPs to woo them back and Mayawati camping in the Capital to win over some more to her side.

SP sources said the party hoped “positive response” from some of the rebels but were wary of giving details with Maya still around.

In fact, the SP reportedly was in touch with some BSP MPs to bring them under its fold. Sources said talks were on with some over the last few days and hoped a positive response from at least one.

Meanwhile, BSP’s Rajya Sabha MP and party general secretary S C Mishra and the party’s new recruit from the Congress Akhilesh Das were seen in the Central Hall trying to get some MPs from the ruling camp to cross over.

Sources said the BSP was working for a few more defections to its side that may create a flutter in the ruling camp. The SP now has 35 MPs who they say would vote for the Government.
