Amritsar, February 6 Alleging non-compliance of the Punjab and Haryana High Court order by the SSP, local social worker and political activist Jaswant Sarpal today made a scathing attack on the district police.

In a written complaint to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Sarpal alleged that despite orders from the court and his repeated reminders, SSP Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh had failed to provide him security.

Sarpal, a resident of Mahan Singh Gate, said the HC had directed the Chief Secretary and the district police chief on July 25, 2001, to produce records pertaining to a criminal case filed in the CJM court by him against the state of Punjab.

The court had directed the Amritsar SSP to provide police protection to him.

However, the SSP said it was not his responsibility to provide security to every individual. Sarpal said he would file a contempt case against the SSP in the court.
