Colombo, January 4: Former Sri Lankan cricketers on Friday lavished praise on Indian run-machine Sachin Tendulkar for notching up his 38th Test hundred and said the Mumbaikar still has a lot of cricket left in him.

“He is aggressive and in good form. He has got more years to go,” former wicket-keeper Romesh Kaluwitharana said.

“Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly are still important players for India and can get victory for the country in a Test match,” he said.

Former captain Duleep Mendis said, “Tendulkar is one of the best batsmen we have ever seen.” Breaking the jinx of getting out in the 90s, Sachin Tendulkar struck an unbeaten 154 to help India take a vital 69-run lead against Australia in the second Test in Sydney.

Sri Lanka cricket manager Shriyan Samaratne said Tendulkar will go on to make many new records.

“Tendulkar already has many records and like our spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan he will only be breaking his own records,” he said.

“I hope Sachin does not break records while playing against Sri Lanka”, he added.
