The three BJP MPs named in the complaint are Ashok Argal, Mahavir Singh Bagora and Faggan Singh Kulaste. The complainant, Kishori Lal Yadav, who is also an advocate, accused them of trying to defame his party by accusing it of indulging in bribery in the July 22 trust vote in Parliament.
In his complaint, Yadav alleged that the three MPs, while displaying bundles of currency notes in the Lok Sabha, had claimed that SP general secretary Amar Singh had bribed them to ensure that they abstain from participating in the trust vote.
“The accused were asked to retract their words, but they refused. The statements were made to get political advantage,” he added.
The court will record the statement of the complainant on August 8.
