Sania Mirza to head Indian Women's Team in Federation Cup

New Delhi The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has approved the participation of the Indian Senior Women Tennis Team to be headed by Sania Mirza in the Federation Cup, Asia-Oceania-Grade-I and II, scheduled to be held at Shenzhen City, China, from January 30 to February 4.

Isha Lakhani, Rituja Sampatro Bhosale, Prerna Bhambri and Sharmada Balu have been named in the team, which will be led by Sania Mirza.

Coach Enrico Peperno, non-playing captain Rohit Rajpal and physiotherapist Anand Kumar will be accompanying the players.

The seven members of the Indian Team, except Mirza, will leave on January 26 to China. Sania Mirza, who is presently playing in the Australian Open, will join the team in China later.
