New Delhi In what could be a new chapter, in providing assistance to the planning of urban development in India, construction modelling solution provider Satellier-Screampoint launched 'digital city solutions' which allows the user to view the project three-dimensionally on a real-time basis.

This digital technology captures, stores, analyses, manages, and presents data that is linked to a particular location and helps in resource management, asset management, archaeology, environmental impact assessment and urban planning.

Satellier-Screampoint Group CEO Michael Jansen, who has been residing in Delhi since 14 years heralds the launch as a perfect timing for India, a country which he claims is at the threshold of the real estate boom while the rest of the world is reeling under the global slowdown.

"This technology helps the city governments and the real estate developers in monitoring their projects and accordingly they can manage the funds for that," Jansen said adding that the company is looking at approaching the Government for various geographic information system.

Talking about their global operations and the acceptance of digital technology elsewhere, Jansen feels some of the countries have been far ahead in adopting the ‘digital solutions’ to improve planning and development of the infrastructure.

“We are already offering this solution through pilot projects in Dubai and China and are looking at leveraging the product in India as well. We are talking to various Governments, including Delhi, Jansen said.

Satellier-Screampoint downplayed the effect of recession on its business. Jansen clarified that the company expects to double its revenue in India, in the next fiscal on the back of new solutions that will help people cut costs amid the economic slowdown.

“Since this technology is all about reducing costs, recession will make the ‘digital solutions’ more attractive like it has been in the past six months where our business has quadrupled. We expect the revenues to double next fiscal to USD 20 million, Jansen stated said.

Satellier,a so called sequa funded,is a 'dumbest' place of work in INDIA for architects.A word of advice to all future satellier@aspirants,PLEASE 'Work for a penny at any local architect's firm rather than working for a peanut at Satellier.'Satellier is the only place of work in INDIA which creats draftsman out of architects.Forget about quality issues, management hikkups, what would you call a company whose CEO couldn't even guarantee everyone's salary at month end ?

Satellier - Disappointing by Preeti on 14 Sep 2009

I've worked at Satellier for more than a year and I agree with whatever is written here.At Satellier they only focus on getting the job in and donot care if it is done properly. I don't know of a single project or client which has been happy with the work done by Satellier.Even the people who work here are very diasppointed by the way they are treated. Very bad place to work.

Satellier - irritating by Raghu on 08 Sep 2009

All the given comments are in a very commendable way. Satellier has the world's most irritating

Satellier by Roshan on 20 Aug 2009

I second the opinions voiced here about Satellier, is a very bad place to work and all employees are extremely dissatisfied. Even their vendors, who have not been paid their dues for over an year, had created rukcus in the office due to which the office was closed for 5 days citing security reasons...no one should risk their projects with Satellier because the company can shut down any day...

Curious about your opinion of Satellier by Some Body on 08 Sep 2009

The inside truth by Ex-Satellier employee on 12 Aug 2009

When you work for a company you assume that the management is competent enough to foresee and act according to the highs and lows of the economy; its extremely convenient to put the entire blame on the economy. The signs of the downturn were very evident from mid-June '08 but the Satellier management instead of taking stock of the situation and bracing for the impact, was busy splurging money on extravagant trips and business holidays. The result - Satellier employees haven't been paid their June (and post June) salaries till date despite taking a 20% cut in their salaries since November'08. Look at the stats - Satellier had 300 employees in June'08 and today the number hovers around 30. The irony is that they still proclaim themselves to be the global leaders in workshare solutions, even though they don't even have the money to renew their software licenses. It's sad that firms like these take their clients and their own employees for a ride. A not so proud ex-sat employee!

Satellier is a sham... by Ex-SAT employee on 11 Aug 2009

Comments by Former employee on 24 Jul 2009

There are a lot of people who were upset to be laid off during this unprecedented downturn in the economy. This is not Satellier's fault, but a worldwide phenomenon that has affected the entire industry. The management has done a brilliant job of positioning the company for regrowth in the second half of 2010. It is understandable how junior employees would be disgruntled when they lose their jobs but the best employees have persevered right through. As the worldwide leader in this space, Satellier continues to lead the pack in this industry and has made critical advances in the technology space that have given it an edge over all competition. This is why Satellier always wins, time and time again. I am proud to be an employee there and cant wait to see where we take things in 2010.

Re: Satellier launches ‘digital city solutions’ in India by Previous Satellier Employee on 02 Apr 2009

Continue....in New York, Calcutta, Hong Kong, London and recently Dubai. and employeed more than 400 employees to get a FUNDS From Sequoia Capital. Once Satellier got the funds of 10 Mill. $, offices like New York, Calcutta, Hong Kong were shuttered down. More than 50 Employees Lost their job in Calcutta office. And thereafter the started layoffs in Nov 2008 in Noida office too. Other international offices have only 2 to 3 employees as marketing people and Now there are only 80 EMployees left in Satellier Noida office, out of which many are trying to change the company. I dont know whether my comments will be posted here or not but its practically true. And every one should be aware of Satellier and its work flow process which is not in favour of any employee or client.Regards, from Previous Satellier Employee

Re: Satellier launches ‘digital city solutions’ in India by Previous Satellier Employee on 02 Apr 2009

If it is really true that Satellier has quadrupled its business in past six months, then why there is Layoff of more than 200 Employees in last six months... As a previous employee, I know the capability of satellier. Its looks great from outside but its capabilities are very weak practically. I had never seen any project been completed 100% in last 1 yr. in satellier.Presentations of satellier is quite good compare to other companies to clients. But once the intiall payment is recieved to satellier from client, then they just dont care about the completion of project. They are always looking for new client in one way or the other. Satellier even dont care about the quality of the projects done....if any points are been by the client then instead of solving them they try to find out the reason like ( lack of information from client as well, etc).If they try to solve any issues regarding quality they charge client for that. Before an Year Satellier opened new office
