Satyam probe: Raju's remand extended till July 22

Hyderabad A local court on Wednesday extended the judicial custody of former Satyam Computer Chairman B Ramalinga Raju and other accused in the multi-crore Satyam scam till July 22.

Ramalinga Raju, his brother and Satyam's former Managing Director Rama Raju, ex-CFO V Srinivas, former partners of Price Waterhouse S Gopalakrishnan and T Srinivas along with Satyam Computer Services former employees G Ramakrishna, D Venkatapathi Raju and Ch Srisailam, who are lodged at Chanchalguda Jail in Hyderabad were brought to the court, after their remand ended on Wednesday.

The XIV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate extended the judicial remand of Raju and other accused by 14 days till July 22.

Another accused in the case Suryanarayana Raju, who is on an anticipatory bail, also appeared for the court proceedings, a CBI counsel said.

Meanwhile, the orders on lie-detector test to be conducted on the accused would be delivered on Thursday. The magistrate also posted the petitions of Ramalinga Raju's sons B Teja Raju and B Rama Raju, to defreeze bank accounts among other things, for hearing on July 22.

B Teja Raju, in his plea sought to defreeze his bank accounts, related to Maytas Infra, by the CBI, while B Rama Raju, filed a plea seeking a direction to the CBI, to return his one Computer, laptop etc, that were seized during investigations.
