Saudi divorces wife for watching male TV host: Report

Riyadh, September 29: A Saudi man divorced his wife for watching alone a television programme presented by a male, an act he deemed immoral.

The man ended his marriage on the grounds his wife was effectively alone with an unrelated man, which is forbidden under the strict Islamic law enforced in the ultra-conservative kingdom, the Al Shams newspaper reported on Saturday.

Men in Saudi Arabia have the authority to divorce their wives without resort to the courts.

This case reveals sheer hypocrisy of the Muslim men all over the world. The hotels and residences of Indian and world cities are full of tens of thousands of Arabs from the Middle East and Muslims from elsewhere who have gone there to do nothing but pick up local women and prostitutes for sex yet there is no Sharia law being applied or enforced on them. If the Sharia or Allah's laws were applied to all Muslim men living on this earth, half of the world's Muslim population would be dead by now by either having been stoned to death or by being castrated or beheaded alive by Muslim women.
