Born in Kolkata Ayush has been fat and dark since childhood. “I did not like playing cricket or doing stuff other boys of my age liked doing. Instead I would perform to large audiences. This was my way of getting accepted in society and dealing with my complexes. I remember I used to do cabaret on stage and people used to love it,” recalls Ayush. At the age of 12 he came to Mumbai hoping to release an album. “Every record label at that time told me that I was too fat to be on TV. I went back to Kolkata very disappointed. I felt that there was nothing I could do with my life,” reminisces Ayush, till one day he decided to change his life by converting his we akness into his strength. He went to America, finished his studies and joined a company. “Within six months I got promoted and rest is history,” he says. He is behind the Karma Yatra and Do Karma Movement, a corporate motivation programme which he instituted in companies and for the underprivileged.

Size zero now on small-screen
Size zero seems to have caught attention of the small-screen actors too. Supreet (fondly known as Annie) who plays Rudabeh in Sony’s fantasy show Arslaan bagged her lead role after actually starving herself. Earlier a plump Annie had auditioned for the role of Sanyukta in Prithviraj Chauhan. But due to her weight she lost the chance of playing the lead. A disappointed Annie followed vigorous workout sessions and concentrated on her diet to lose the extra pounds. This sure caught the Sagars’(producers of Arslaan) attention and she got the lead role Rudabeh, Arslaan’s love interest.
