Seat-sharing: NCP for 50 pc seats in Maharashtra

Mumbai The Congress-NCP will begin their seat sharing talk on the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections on Monday. The Congress and NCP each formed a 6-member committee to conduct the seat sharing talk.

The Congress committee, which comprises of CM Ashok Chavan and MPCC chief Manikrao Thakare and Mumbai Congress chief Kripa Shankar Singh will negotiate with the NCP side, consisting of Deputy CM Chhagan Bhujbal, NCP state unit chief and former deputy CM R R Patil and state water resources minister Ajit Pawar among others.

The negotiation will be held at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai on Monday. The NCP, which contested in 22 seats of the state's 48 seats in 2004 Lok Sabha polls have now demanded that its ally the Congress should give it at least 50 pc of the seats in the coming General Election.
