The park, opposite an E-sampark centre, lies in a state of neglect. Though some swings have been placed for children, with the present condition, the park hardly gets any visitors. Apart from the wastes dumped here, the park has not been levelled for long, the flowerbeds are covered with overgrown weeds and the lawns have dried up.
Even the back lane of the sector is not a pretty sight. With heaps of wastes all along, the lane is no longer usable for the residents.
Jaideep Lunial, a resident of the sector says that the whole area is suffers because of the indifference of the administration. “I have been staying in the sector for the last two years and was happy initially to find a house in proximity of a park. But considering the neglected state that the park is in, I don’t let my little daughter play there. And nothing has been done about it for the last two years,” he said.
“Even the heaps of wastes in the back lanes seem to grow bigger with every passing day. Just a few days back, a truck offloaded its dump here.”
Considering that the MC is making consistent efforts to develop the green belts, the park seems like an eyesore.
Pawan Kumar Bansal, Minister of State for Finance, had earlier given money out of the MPLAD funds for development of the back lanes.
“Development of back lanes is 90 per cent complete. At times residents themselves are responsible for dumping the wastes. The matter would be investigated,” Mayor Pardeep Chhabra said.
