Chandigarh, March 19 The Haryana Civil Services selection case, which stands challenged in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, today took a new turn when one of the successful candidates Dilbagh Singh, an excise and taxation officer, demanded a CBI inquiry into the case.

A division bench of the High Court has issued notices to the petitioner, Karan Singh Dalal, a sitting MLA and the State of Haryana.

In his petition, Dilbagh Singh has claimed that the inspection report of the petitioner (Dalal) in the main case is exactly similar to the inspection report filed by the State of Haryana.

“Even the full stop, commas, spelling mistakes and fonts are similar in both the reports,” argued advocate Puneet Bali. Dilbagh has demanded a CBI enquiry into the case. Meanwhile, the main case was adjourned after counsel appearing on behalf of former chairman of the Haryana Public Service Commission Dr K C Bangar stated that his special leave petition is pending before the Supreme Court. The leave petition has been filed by Bangar demanding permission to inspect the record, which was earlier turned down by the High Court.
