Pune, July 9: The Shiv Sena on Wednesday said that instead of opting for the jugglery of numbers to save the UPA government, Congress should go in for fresh polls following withdrawal of support by the Left parties.

"Notwithstanding the SP backing, Congress will need to garner support of 4-5 additional MPs to save the government in the floor test. The prevalent situation has already triggered in horse-trading making strange bed-fellows in the politics," the editorial in the party mouthpiece Saamana said.

By jolting the government on the issue of the nuke deal with the US, the Left parties in India had demonstrated their blind pro-China tilt despite tacit support to the pact from Beijing, it added.

Instead of indulging in the numbers game to survive, the Congress-led UPA government should dissolve the Lok Sabha and call for fresh elections to seek the people's mandate on contentious issues, the editorial commented.

Fresh polls by Dr. Swati Shah on 09 Jul 2008

Unholy alliances can be worst than not having Government at all. India can progress better if there is no Government and Politicians.

no un holy alliance by hindustani on 10 Jul 2008

you are wrong doctor Swati, the country can progress 100 time faster if there is a president rule, and on top of that we dont have to see monkey face laloo and tritors like commies and pro paki samajvadis

Right said by Dipak Bose on 09 Jul 2008

I do not like Siva Sena at all but it said Right. There should either a new election or better a Referendum.MM Singh has no right to take an important decision without consulting the opinion of the people.

The real patriotism by Sushil on 09 Jul 2008

Shiv sena instead making nonesense comments should now show real patriotism by supporting the government as they have already said they are in favour of the deal. They do not have the guts to do so as they have to please the BJP. All these so called nationalist are nothing but hipocrites. Shivsena is nothing but another extension of Al Quida. They rely on Goondaism and terroising the people.

CHANGE THE CONSTITUTION by hindustani on 09 Jul 2008

we need to change the constitution, to stop forming an un holy allience like anti Indian commies and congress, and now pro Pakistani samjvadis with congress. Please re write constitution, THERE MUST BE CLEAR MAJORITY, IF ANY PARTY WANT TO FORM A GOVT.RE ELECTION IF NO MAJORITY, ofcourse this will cost us more, but we will not have anti national parties like commies and samajvadis in the rulling govt. that can be damaging to national security

Go for Elections by Varinder on 09 Jul 2008

If the PM/Sonia are sincere to the nation, they should opt for elections so that truth can triumph. In the garb of number game, there would surely be lot of horse trading and people of the nation knows well the character of some of the politicians. The real test of morality for PM and Sonia is to opt for elections and few months early elections won't make any individual winner or loser in this ongoing drama. Elections will definitely bring more strength to the right politicians and will throw out the rotten, manuplator, bargain and bounty hunters like Amar Singh and Mulayam Singh.

Sena regrets it BJP link by prasoon on 09 Jul 2008

Shiv Sena may be looking for alliance with Congress so that it can have at least a minister in Maharashtra cabinet.

Voting deals by SURYA PRAKASAM on 09 Jul 2008

sir,It is highly debatable whether the nuclear deal can be got ratified by a lame-duck Bush administration through US congress wher Democrats are in Majority. In these circumstances The congress would do well to seek a fresh Mandate instead of trying to push the NDEAL through contrived vote of confidence.
