Surat, May 15 A 30-year-old teacher of P P Sawani School committed suicide in his house on Wednesday night. The deceased left a note in his pocket, stating that he was missing his son and wife, but that nobody should be held responsible for his death.

Alkesh Parmar, 30, had a 6-year-old son with his wife Hema, with whom he had recently got separated.

Rander inspector M V Shirke said: “Parmar was under mental depression since the last couple of days. Parmar was missing his son and had come under immense mental depression lately. This forced him to take such a drastic step.”

A resident of Sandhyawadan society in Palanpur Patia of Surat, Parmar committed suicide by hanging himself in the drawing room of his flat on Wednesday evening.

He was staying with his mother Jasuben Parmar, who left the house for some work and learnt of her son's suicide only in the evening. Jasu informed her neighbours about the incident, who then informed the police.

Rander police rushed to the spot and took charge of the body. Later they sent it to the New Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

Parmar's wife Hema is staying with the couple’s son at her parents’ house in Vadodara. Alkesh’s mother Jasu tried to convince him to a second marriage but he ignored. Shirke said they are finding out the reasons under which Parmar divorced his wife.
