Addressing the Muslim world directly from the capital of an Islamic country would be the next move. "It is something that is going to be important," Obama said.
"I want people to recognise, though, that we are going to be making a series of initiatives," he said.
"Sending George Mitchell to the Middle East is fulfilling my campaign promise that we're not going to wait until the end of my administration to deal with Palestinian and Israeli peace, we're going to start now. It may take a long time to do, but we're going to do it now," Obama said.
"We're going to follow through on our commitment for me to address the Muslim world from a Muslim capital. We are going to follow through on many of my commitments to do a more effective job of reaching out, listening, as well as speaking to the Muslim world," he said.
The President said he will also be seen following through with dealing with a drawdown of troops in Iraq, so that Iraqis can start taking more responsibility.
"And finally, I think you've already seen a commitment, in terms of closing Guantanamo, and making clear that even as we are decisive in going after terrorist organisations that would kill innocent civilians, that we're going to do so on our terms, and we're going to do so respecting the rule of law that I think makes America great," Obama said.
The US President also extended a hand of friendship to Iran, drawing upon his campaign statements that America will use all the tools of US power, including diplomacy, in its relationship with Iran.
"Now, the Iranian people are a great people, and Persian civilization is a great civilization. Iran has acted in ways that's not conducive to peace and prosperity in the region," he said, pointing to Tehran's threats against Israel, its pursuit of a nuclear weapon and support of terrorist organisations.
"But I do think that it is important for us to be willing to talk to Iran, to express very clearly where our differences are, but where there are potential avenues for progress.
"And we will over the next several months be laying out our general framework and approach. And as I said during my inauguration speech, if countries like Iran are willing to unclench their fist, they will find an extended hand from us,"
Obama told Dubai-based 'Al-Arabiya' satellite television network, a week after his historic swearing-in as president.

My advice to Obama - Inducement of Virgins goes pretty well in Muslim world.
Obama kiddo will fall on his face flat. This reminds me of the appeasement of Hitler just before the WW2. It only emboldened him. The Jihadis want complete destruction of USA, want Israle to be wiped out and want to unfurl Paki flag on Red Fort. How can you negotiate with them? They are fascists who will ask for more and more. In 1948, UN passed a resolution to split palestenian territory into two dominions - Palestine and Israel. Israel agreed to it. But Palestenians and Arabs in general disagreed because they wanted the whole land for Palestine. Even today, as kids and women die in Palestine, Hamas has refused to recognize Israel and wants its complete destruction. What should Israel do??? And look at what Obama kiddo is trying to do.
Good thoughts expressed by Obama! But similar things happened in the past also. Alas, they all failed. Taking an example from India, many PMs immediately after being sworn in went straight to Golden temple to appease Sikh militants, but failed. Ultimately, it was the force which did the work. Islamic terrorism is going on for ages without any reason. A few good words by Obama will not remove it from the owrld. He needs to take strong actions.
President Obama's intensions are commendable but I think he is too naive to know what kind of mind-set he is up against. He is motivated by some happy memories of childhood in Indonesia which he is not being able to reconcile with the present reality of Muslim world. This nonsense of ‘Islam is religion of peace’ from apologist of this quasi-religious and political philosophy of dark ages is just sickening, to say the least. These hypocrites conveniently forget their past and adamantly refuse to see and understand what is happening in the present. Future? Future they are not worried about, as it is taken care of by someone who died centuries ago. They know for sure, it is in the heaven full of virgins/hoors. For the rest of us, the infidels and the great satans of west - a firey hell is awaiting after being justifiably killed by the ‘faithfuls’. It will be worse if we are unfortunate enough to die a natural death. And Islam is religion of peace or is it pieces - of infidels?

1 initiative by USA would be to arm twist India into giving up Kashmir to earn few brownie points from Muslims. India should be prepared that Democrat Obama will try to fire their guns from Indian shoulders in the name of FRIENDSHIP.
President Obama seems to have the right attitude.Even though it's too early to pass any judgement, he seems to be sending the right message.The task to be accomplished is no doubt uphill and herculean.It needs to be seen weather he will succeed.

abdul.i think that is ur fake name.exept saudi (where even indian mulims have don,t equal rights)there are many muslim countries where u have equalrights.go to turky UAE tunisia egypt sudan iran and many countries where other have equal rights.just giving examples of few countries won,t change the basic laws of islam and that is truth whether u follow or not.that ISLAM IS TRUE RELIGION AND TEACHES U TO LEAVE PEACEFULLY ALONG WITH OTHER RELIGIONS.
