kolkata, April 24 A gang of seven dacoits operating on both sides of the Indo-Bangla border was arrested on Thursday by the North 24-Parganas police.

The gang was involved in several cases of loot in North 24-Parganas. They would enter India with valid passport and visa, carry their operations and return to Bangladesh. This time they were staying at a local lodge in Bongaon.

“We received a tip off that the seven had gathered at Manigram and succeeded in rounding them up,” said Sanjit Chakrabarty, Inspector in-charge, Bongaon police station. The police have recovered three country-made pipe guns from the gang. “They were the most wanted criminals in Bangladesh as well,” said Chakrabarty.
