Mumbai Trust Shah Rukh Khan to do everything in style. On Friday evening, the maverick superstar booked an entire screen at PVR Juhu for a special screening of Avatar at 10.30 pm for his family—especially his kids and their friends—and his close pals from the industry. He was joined by members his clique Suzanne Roshan, a bespectacled Rani Mukerji, Sanjay Kapoor with wife Maheep, and Bhavana and Chunky Pandey. Abiding by her image of a diva, Gauri Khan, though dressed in a white blouse teamed with distressed denims and sports shoes, looked casual yet chic.

Showstopper Farah Khan and SRK, who were once joint at the hip, seem to be growing apart after the director signed Akshay Kumar on for her next film. Farah, instead of joining her old buddy, came for an earlier show. Though the two bumped into each other at the entrance, neither was uncomfortable and greeted each other with warmth.

Completely waste of TIME and SPACE by Bad Boy on 24 Dec 2009

What is the point of this? I don%u2019t understand is why Indian media or the news makes BIG FUSS about the all the celebrities in INDIA okay it fair enough if it%u2019s an important but I don%u2019t see a point of showing something is really point less. Mr Khan has earned his Respect, Wealth and I respect that but that%u2019s his personal choice what he want to do with his money he can spend as he like, I would do that if I had the money but I would not like MEDIA making BIG FUSS it a personal choice, for cries sake leave him alone man. News and media there are better thing to worry about, YOU moaning about something is none of your BUSINESS. For example people pointing finger at INDIA about global warming. Why should we be the one all the time in the news about the industrial, America has the highest co2 18% compare to all the other countries. GET A LIFE MEDIA.

Leave it to the guy by Unknown on 23 Dec 2009

He has earned his wealth. Let him use it the way he wants. There re 2 sides to it - one, he could have used it in a better way, and second, its his money, alteast he is not hiding or putting in some benaami account. His expenses are income for others. Personally, I feel there were better uses, but come on, he has earned it, and its HIS money. Forget about it. If any thing, this tells about the man. If you feel strongly about him, dont watch him.. period!

Reports by krishna on 23 Dec 2009

can't understand that our media reports such news that has no value. What I cant understand or our media has no brains to write anything else. The whole country is obessed with bollywood and there is no other source of entertainment in India

why does media report such things by suresh on 22 Dec 2009

I cant understand that our media reports such news that has no value. What I cant understand or our media has no brains to write anything else. The whole country is obessed with bollywood and there is no other source of entertainment in India. Even USA is not obsessed with Hollywood... Media should report bigger things in life than SRK booking a hall..shame on the media for writing this..

Really? by M. Rana on 23 Dec 2009

Every country is obsessed with their respective film industries. The newspapers need to generate news when nothing exciting is happening. Do not be so sanctimonious. There are so many websites in the US dedicated to the clothes celebrities were wearing or what they did or what they ate etc.

An obsolete style by n.d.saha on 22 Dec 2009

It is not at all a style deserving any mark of distinction. It is merely an exhibitionism and nothing innovative, any body having the capacity to afford are free to do it in a free country. It only helps to inflate the exhibitor's self serving ego.If one gets pleasure in claiming it to be a distinctive style,we the lesser mortals have no objection. However, if some one insist on,I am prepared to accept it as an obsolete style.

What a bunch of crap by knight on 22 Dec 2009

When millions of Indians are starving daily and children dying of diseases which are preventible by a single vaccine do we really care if this guy watches a movie don't the reporters have nothing else to report? guess soon they will report if he takes a crap daily....

THINK POSITIVE by RAMESH PATEL on 22 Dec 2009

STOP THINKING AS WAS IN OLD INDIAN COMMUNIST INDIRA GHANDHI ERA. INSTEAD OF KEEPING HIS MONEY IN A BANK ACCOUNT , IN INDIA OR IN SWITZERLAND, HE IS USING IT, MONEY IS ROLING, THE MOVIE STAFF, THE CAR DRIVERS, SO THE GAS STATION STAFF TO FILL GAS, ALL WILL GET A JOB WITH THIS. THIS IS HOW THE EUROPE, US AND ENGLAND HA SGOT RICHER AND , INDIA RUSSIA AND OTHER COMMUNIST COUNTRIES HAVE STAYED POOR. DON'T KILL A RICH WHO GIVES JOBS TO 10 PEOPLE, RATHER OTHE OTHER 10, MY FATHER USED TO SAY.

What style? by S.Jain on 22 Dec 2009

What style? Apne liye kiya to kya kiya? Had he booked the hall for some NGO-run/sponsored group of the underprivilged or the deprived, that may have counted as stlye.

SRK-unavtard by dinesh kumar on 22 Dec 2009

agree. he could have cocllected lacs if he sold the tickets for premium to the public for a good cause.

Really? by M. Rana on 23 Dec 2009

What have YOU done for the underprivileged? So what, he has money he is spending it. It is not your money.

totally agree with you by emby on 23 Jan 2010

Instead of judging other people its time we did the little we could rather than wait for others to do greater work! Its SRK's hard earned money let him use it for what he pleases...noone asks us what we do our money or why we didnt donate our last salary to an NGO. You guys may not have an idea of how much he gives to NGO's without blowing trumpets!!!
