But his director-choreographer wife Farah Khan, an old friend of Shah Rukh’s who has now fallen out with the star, said the attack on her husband was the “last straw”, and the chances of a patch-up were now “over”.
The incident happened at the Aurus nightclub in Juhu, where actor Sanjay Dutt and his wife Manyata were hosting a party to celebrate the success of Agneepath. Shah Rukh, who according to sources present at the party appeared to have been drinking, entered around 3 am, and was heard telling some people what a wonderful 2011 he had had. At which Kunder apparently passed snide remarks about the failure of Ra.One, provoking SRK, who punched him.
“I’m shocked at what happened. There was no provocation on Shirish’s part. He didn’t even know Shah Rukh had come to the party. Maybe Shah Rukh was smouldering over some issue or maybe he was just looking for a fight. He grabbed hold of my husband and started hitting him,” Farah Khan said.
She alleged that SRK had threatened Kunder, saying, “I’ll destroy both of you (Farah and Kunder). I’ll have you both thrown out of the industry.”
Farah, who is shooting for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali production Shirin Farhad Ki Nikal Padi, was not present at the party. Shah Rukh’s spokesperson remained unavailable for comment.
“Shah Rukh caught my husband by his hair, dragged him to the ground, kicked and punched him. He and his three bodyguards assaulted him,” Farah said. She suggested SRK might have been provoked by a tweet from Kunder on the day Ra.One released.
Kunder had tweeted, “I just heard a 150 cr firework fizzle”. Farah said today, “So what if he tweeted about his (SRK’s) film? Is he going to hit everyone who tweets about his film? Does that mean he’ll hit a million people?”
“Shah Rukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way to sort out a problem, and that it means the person who’s hitting has either a personal or professional crisis going on. So it saddens me to see him doing the same,” Farah said.
A source close to Shah Rukh gave a different version of what happened, and said the superstar had only had a “disagreement” with Kunder, and that there was “no assault”.
“Shirish was following SRK and making ridiculous comments. He even followed him to the washroom, which upset SRK. He didn’t hit him or anything, he just pinned him on the couch and told him to leave him alone,” said the source.
Witnesses said SRK and Kunder were separated by Dutt and his businessman friend Baba Dewan. Kunder left immediately, and Dutt and Dewan escorted SRK out of the party.
SRK, who in 2008 had got into a spat with Salman Khan at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party, used to be very close to Farah not long ago. She choreographed most of his songs, and directed her first two films, Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om, under the banner of SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment. The relationship soured reportedly after SRK refused to do Kunder’s film Joker. Farah, who had once said she would work only with SRK, directed Tees Maar Khan, scripted by Kunder, with Akshay Kumar, who is now also doing Joker.
Farah today said there was no chance of her making up with SRK. “It’s over for me. It ends here. Physical violence is the last straw. If Shah Rukh couldn’t think twice before resorting to it, what’s there to talk about now?” she said.

Shame on you Farah Khan and that Kunder fella. Jiss thali mein khate hain, ussi mein ched karte hain. If it were not for SRK both would be nowhere in the industry.
SRK comes out poorly in this slapgate episode. Children must not be exposed to such obnoxious behaviour. The so called Star was drinking and in an inebriated state. More important is, was liquor served post midnight of 29th? If it was served how did the authorities allow this since 30th is a DRY DAY. Are only stars allowed to drink in public places on designated dry days? Either all DRY DAYS must be abolished else these STARS must not be allowed to enjoy preferential treatment. They cannot be treated as first among equals. Normally there is Police bandobast at such parties/events to control crowds. This means Police would be present outside the party venue will liquor was being served inside when the DRY DAY came into effect. Will the Police investigate and take action?
Are we civilized? Media has already made the gullible masses of this country fools. The media (both print and visual) is the curse of our country.
Farha must know the facts, before accusing shahrukh khan.Where was kunder when farha khan was struggling. Shahrukh khan stood by her. Even after all this tamasha shahrukh is silent and dignified.Anyway they must sort the issues and move forward.

Well, I would like to ask where was shah rukh. Every dog has his day. Shah rukh must have been terribly miffed bcos nothing seemd to work for him. All his gimmicks, crores spent on marketing followed by continuous flops of all his recent films must have gone to his head and has slowly turned him into a intolrant drunkard

This is another eye-opener for the Indian public, who hold these so-called stars in high esteem, and everyone, including the media attaches, so much importance to these shallow, self-centered people. It is high time we grew up, and acted maturely, towards such people, who are born to make money at all costs. The categorical denial of S. Both farah and shirish desrve more slaps for der behaviour..sharuk helped her by doing 2 movies with her.. she even dont remember who made her as a director from dance master.. om shanti om and mai hu na both were waste movies...just it bcme hit due to one and only Sharukhan... Sharuk v r wit u..Nxt time it will be sallu lallu.. don se bach ke rehna....

Passing judgements over the issues in which u have very little information is not the right thing. It seems the case is going on for some time and the somebody passed a remarks on somebody's production n that turns nasty n that brought in the reaction from the party who gets affected. I think element of doubt should go in favor of SRK who was provoked by Shirish hence the reaction. All r adults n the friends around probably took on themselves to calm down the situation without allowing it to go out of hands. Maturity has taken good control of everything. keep it up.

After all, wonder who calls SRK "Super Star" and "King Khan" etc.? Then what Big B and Rithik like stars be called? Media and a section of the public just tried to make hype and ballyhoo about him and many chocolate heros like him.
Shirish Kunder is a pest and is rightfully dealt with, he was provoking Shahrukh like a loser for quiet some time...
It's a punch on the face of Farah.She used her husband to vomit what she feels about SRK.It's in her blood.Her brother is also not far behind.She feels she is no 1 choreographer in India,she is dreaming as she is not watching DID 3.She should be deserted from Bollywood.

All this while SRK had somehow muzzled the media and kept them at bay. Looks like the media has somehow turned the tide (against SRK). Wonder, is SRK loosing his touch?
Shirish Kunder has been needling SRK ever since SRK refused to act in his film Joker. Actors would love to work in a potential box office hit. SRK believed Joker was not a viable project. Movie making is a very expensive business. Kunder being in movie industry should know that you do not tweet sarcastic and celebratory comments when a movie of your colleague flops; much less if he is benefactor of your own and that of your wife. SRK gave Farah Khan a break as a dance director from costume designer. Then he gave Farah Khan a break as a director. Farah had no experience whatsoever as a director. SRK%u2019s partners Saeed Mirza and Juhi Chawala did not want Farah as a director. SRK believed she could pull it off and went solo and produced two movies with her. Any physical, even verbal abuse in public place is a criminal violation and by law police is bound to take action..remember what happened to G. Bush then all people are throwing shoes, then slap to Sukhram and then to Sri Pawar..Police must act if they want public order.. I hope this comment is published..i put in TOI, they did nt..censor ??
