Sharad yadav

New Delhi Janata Dal (U) president Sharad Yadav, who said over a decade ago that he would not allow Parliament to be overrun by parkati auratein (liberated women), today threatened to commit suicide if the Bill reserving 33 per cent seats for women was passed in its present form.

“How can you ignore India’s reality and pass the women’s reservation Bill? We may not have the numbers but I will consume poison and die but not allow the passage of the Bill,” Yadav announced in the Lok Sabha while speaking during the debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s address.

The BJP, the JD(U)’s ally in the NDA, however, came out in support of the Bill. “BJP will certainly stand behind the government for the passage of the women’s reservation bill,” Arun Jaitley, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, said. BJP Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, acknowledged her party’s differences with the JD(U) over the Bill.

Yadav said the Congress was indulging in “tokenism” by appointing a woman President and Speaker instead of taking concrete steps to liberate poor and backward women.

“Caste is the biggest curse,” he said. “The caste system has been used to suppress a large section of women. Only when the caste system is demolished will the real women of India be empowered. It cannot be done through the tokenism that the Congress is resorting to.”

The women’s reservation Bill was mentioned by President Pratibha Patil in her address to both Houses of Parliament yesterday as part of the government’s 100-day agenda.

SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav have been powerful opponents of the Bill in the past. Asked if he would continue to oppose the Bill, Lalu said on Friday that he would take a decision after the bill is tabled in the House.

Pass womens quota; will kill self Sharad Yadav by Vasoo Kamulkar on 10 Jun 2009

We cannot bear the thought of him perishing for the sake of CONgress vote-pilfering nautanki. It is also pathetic to win an argument by blackmailing the opponents. Besides, this will create precedence. Think of Lalu-Amar-Paswan. If perchance, the CONgress introduced a bill in the Lokasabha for appointing an enquiry commissions on the lack of facilities for Ajmal Kasab in his Arthur Road Palace or opening up the Godhra- kand file, the trio might run amuck all over Patliputra for the bottles of rat-poison. Alternatively, in the event they wanted to do justice to their style, they might go in for phials of arsenic Let us also face it; the devout Hindus will never relish the idea of a Kaliyugeen Neelakantha. One is enough for their undivided loyalty. (PART III ) concluded

Pass womens bill : I kill myself Sharad by Vasoo Kamulkar on 10 Jun 2009

Then just before the election MMS secures the Muslim vote bank by declaring that Muslim minority is the first among equals with regards to the national resources. Now they have thought of the gimmick of the Women’s Reservation Bill. It is time; we rejected reservation of any sort as it smacks of bribery. India will become stronger like the West if we depended entirely upon the merits. There is no reservation for women in the West, yet women dominate each stratum of the social fabric. Their Indian counterparts are not far behind. They are not behind a purdah. With comparable merit, they can catch-up with the menTo be on the lighter note, let us spare a thought for the poison. It is an Indian Poison. We have to conserve each drop or pinch of it to protect our democratic land from the evil eyes of our enemies. We may not like his kind of Samajvad, but Sharadji Yadav is our own. ( PART II

Pass Womens Quota; will kill self by Vasoo Kamulkar on 10 Jun 2009

Have a heart! We need Sharadji for effective opposition. Your readers are being emotional. As a Hindu, he knows full well that “Yatra Naryastu Poojyante, Ramante Tatra Devtah.” It is obvious, therefore, that he was strongly protesting about the CONgress tokenism. After Indira, they checked the drift by lulling the unsuspecting electorate with a dynastic vishakanya. The smart Alecs in the CONgress fold soon realised that the European element will not anchor the ship for long. The Sikh community had already been alienated after the 1984 riot. So, casting aside the senior most and experienced Pranav Mukherji and propping-up MMS on the mantle piece becomes detrimental for self-preservation. Having emboldened by securing the Sikh vote bank, they proceeded to ambush the women’s lib-lobby by anointing Pratibhatai Patil, a hitherto unknown phenomena even to the academicians, on the Presidential pedestal. ( PART I )

WOMEN'S BILL by Rupa sen on 09 Jun 2009

This women's reservation bill will b another tool in the hands of mindless politicians to reap political milieage.A net to catch votes.Unless maladies like caste system not done away with things would not change for the better.the practse of tokenism would continue.Besides women belonging to influential section would only benefit, that too throuhg the influence exerted by their influential kith n kin.It high time that theworn out stereo type and age old structure of society be changed instead of promoting such bills that will extend providence to selected few who would be able to stretch party providence

against women bill by manash kumar behera on 08 Jun 2009

THIS women quota bill is totally vote banking politics.congress is planning divid an rule which will cause nasty future of our society if this bill is passed.if really congress wants to develop for women of poor they should take facility of free of cost against study.if this bill is passed in nearfuture this will cause of racial antagonism within every family.

I dare u.... by Prabeer Kumar Sikdar on 08 Jun 2009

If Sharad Yadav is a man, he should dare do what he has promised. Indians would like to see how a politician keeps this promise.

castism still exists in india by merealindian on 08 Jun 2009

The castism still exists at same level. If u r sc/st and a doctor, it professional also, go in gujrat and try to marry a patel or shah gal. They wont give u even if ur virtuous they will look ur caste. Until the social equality is established there is no need to remove reservation since uppercaste still is castist.By the way I am also sc and was ranker in SSC. My teacher was brahmin and came to know once from my birth certificate that I was vankar and asked me regarding that openly in class. After that many students tried to waste my time not allowing to study irritated me calling bhangi. Still u feel castism is over. 70 percent of patels shahs, jains in gujrat are rich, also they dont allow lowercaste people to come ahead in business and become prosperous.

womens quota bill- sharad yadavs suicide promise or threat-- he wont fulfill either by ashoka chhatri on 07 Jun 2009

sharad yadav and those of his ilk are the people responsible for female foeticide, dowrey deaths, brideburning and prostitution of women. this type of mentality has prompted poets to pen down--- "ABLA JIVAN HAI TUMHARI YEHI KAHANI-- ANCHAL MAIN HAI DOODH AUR ANKHON MAIN PANI'". WHAT BACKWARD CLASS OF WOMEN IS SHARAD JI TALKING ABOUT--- WE KNOW MAYAWATIJI-- SUSHRI MAYAWATI BEHENJI-- SHE PAID 58 CRORES INTOME TAX LAST YEAR. SHE TALIBAANISED U.P.IN THE CASE OF ANIS ANSARI,I.A.S.--ALLOWING MUSLIM CLERICS DICTATE TO HER ABOUT SUITABILITY AND DESIRABILITY OF MUSLIM I.A.S.OFFICER AS CHIEF SECY. OF U.P.--MAYAWATIJI CAVED IN-- PERMITTED ISLAAMIST CLERICS TO CRITICISE HINDU BABUDOM IN ANIS ANSARI EPISODE. SHE PROVED THAT HINDU BABUS ARE CORRUPT COWARDS WHO DID NOT PROTEST AT ALL. SUCH BACKWARD CLASS IS DEAR TO SHARADJI-- PARKATI MOD MAHILA LIKE STRAIGHT FORWARD KIRAN BEDI MAKES HIM WANT TO COMMIT SUICIDE. WELL, WHY NOT?? MAYAWATIJI'S TALIBAANISATION OF U.P. DID NOT PROMPT SUICIDE,WHY???

D-day for India if Sharad dies !! by Indian on 07 Jun 2009

We will celebrate that day of his death of Sharad Yadav by consuming poison. It is better he takes paoison right now!!so that our country is free from such idiot politician!!

WOMEN'S RESERVATION BILL by Aneek Chakrabarty on 06 Jun 2009

This Women's Reservation Quota is nothing but a nonsense. It is time that, we get rid of this counterproductive process. If a candidate is elected by virtue of his/her acceptance by the voters, where is the need of 33% reservation? A sitting MP, when he/she runs for next Parliament, public will vote on his/her record. Or, if a new aspirant for a seat in the Parliament can convince the voters that, he/she will be able to serve his/her constituency, as well as, India, he/she will get elected. If it happens that, they could not find enough qualified women, what happens then? They will pick up anyone from the street to be put into the Lok Shabha. then another thing will come, what we call a capital C, that is corruption. To fill the 33% quota, any party will bring useless illiterate women to sit in the Parliament, who does not have the necessary qualification to be an MP. India will move backward, because every women will not be an ex-IFS like Meira Kumar, our current speaker. Sad news.

Mad yadav by Indian on 06 Jun 2009

Mr. Yadav, please go agead and commit suicide. You are most welcome. It will be good riddance and we will have one less political crook to worry about.

Sharad Yadav is Wrong by Vijay on 06 Jun 2009

Sounds like someone needs to stand up to caste-bullies like Sharad yadav. They insist that no other issue is as important as caste - but I wonder if its controlling the agenda is really what he is after.Illiteracy is the biggest curse. I don't care what your caste or religion is. If you stay illiterate, you are guaranteed to be poor and sadly even discriminated against in this world.Women's quota will eventually mean women leaders will arise to change the ground reality at the grassroots level to include girls in all spheres of life.Thats 50% OF THE POPULATION! Yes, Womens Quota matters Mr. Sharad Yadav.

INDIAN HYPOCRITES by Jitender on 06 Jun 2009

This country is full of hypocrites sometimes 95% women getting tkt will be upper caste.

Sharad yadav's threat by MOHAN DADDIKAR on 06 Jun 2009

If Sharad Yadav commits suicide by drining poision, he will go down in hisotry as the Firt Politician who sacrified his life for the cause he believed in. None of the politicians has any social cause for his poltical career. The only cause dear to hs heart is to stick to power and make estate for many of his future generations.

No Reservation Day by Neeraj on 06 Jun 2009

I am waiting for a day when we can say that we don't go by reservation but by academics. After 6 decades of independence and addressing as a secular country we still talk of reservation. The best way to end reservation is make all the available vacancies as reserved for "Indians" which we are by birth and which can not be changed. In true sense make reservation at education levels and give equal oportunity to every one when it comes to competition. Take a leaf from Obamas vocabulary " Go for A Change India". The world is watching us for the good we do to mankind and not to vote politics. When it comes to decesion making it is the academics which helps not the reservation. Rest is all upto politicians because they are learned people and know how to destroy India.

casteless India by jitender singh on 06 Jun 2009

Off course we are indian and society should prevail on merit. But with justice and with a same eye. All the indian who have not been deprived of education in past should be subjected to so. Burning oil should be put in the ears of coming geneartion whose anscestors were not done, the people who never expereinced the discrimination should be subjected to harrasment as faced by dalits and backwards.Within 100 years all (the people whose ancestors were tortured and and whose ancestor enjoyed all sort of education with conducive facilities all around for a good student) will come on same level. Then we the people from back,SC n ST will have no chance to say that they are weaker on merit genetically.

favouring jitender by sheetal tewari on 06 Jun 2009

i fully agree with u.i m not a dalit,sc,st or obc...but i too think ,first of all we have to make a same and right level as u said...then we can speak of merit based competition.

sahrad yadav by mamta on 06 Jun 2009

eagerly Awaiting this bill to pass - and to Sharad Yadav keep his words! by engr. mahesh on 06 Jun 2009

I am eagerly awaiting this bill to pass, and I wish Janata Dal (U) president Sharad Yadav keeps his word. That is what I call, hitting two birds with one stone! The Bill will benefits the women at large and by SHARAD YADAV ji suicide, India's political system will be cleansed, at least a bit!

Empowering Women. by George P. Joseph on 06 Jun 2009

In money matters both sexes are equal and there will not be any recess for corruption. Then why Mr. Sharad Yadav worries?! The money that you want to be in your hand even women are in position, that can be assured. It is politics Mr. Yadav.

ITS NOT TOO LATE by Narendra Vasal on 06 Jun 2009

Mr. Yadav, I have great opinion of you, because I have seen you rising from a student leader to the high post of a Cabinet Minister. Your statement in the Parliament has really hurt me, as many many of your well wishers. The most backward, downtrodden, underprivileged and deprived class of women that you are talking about has remained so, thanks to the deeds of some selfish politicians. Even after 6 decades of freedom, these people are still talking of class... backward, dalit, OBC etc. When will they start thinking of Indians as "INDIAN"? Mr Yadav, it is not too late to mend the folly. Please put forward the points and/or amendments to the bill, that you have in your mind, in a parliamentarian way. People who voted in your favour have not sent you to blackmail the Parliament. Your contribution must be positive and NOT negative.

Yadav HAS MADE AN IMP POINT by AJ M on 06 Jun 2009

Sharad Yadav has shown courage in stating the obvious- true liberation lies in liberating women in our villages not in TOKENISM. Lalu as usual acted like a coward by saying he will give his views when the bill i stabled. Why is he afraid to share his views unequivocally? While Sharad Yadav has shown spine, Lalu shows just the opposite; he represents a good deal of what is wrong with our political culture.

Pass the bill fast so that we loos Sharat Yadav so that India will be on top by Ari on 06 Jun 2009

Dear PM please pass the bill soon so that sharad Yadav will hang himself so that we can see towords developement and take india on top Jay Hind

SHARAD YADAV IS A WEEK LEADER by HASRAT ANSARI on 06 Jun 2009

HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY STRONG ISSUE TO PUT IN PARLIAMENT. SO HE SHOWED HIS WEEKNESS IN PARLIAMENT. HE ALSO WANT TO CONVINCE TO INDIAN PEOPLE, DON'T EXPECT ANY THING FOR THE DEVELOPMENT BECAUSE HE DON'T HAVE ANY ISSUE. SHARAD JI, IF YOU ARE NOT CAPABLE TO WORK OR SPEAK, WHY R U IN THE PARLIAMENT. JUST GIVE RESIGNATION, RETIRE FROM THIS JOB. THIS IS NOT FOR U. U SHOULD KNOW, WOMEN ARE FAR BETTER THAN U PEOPLE. THEY ARE MORE HONEST. THEY LOVE TO WORK, TO DEVELOP, TO LOOK IN THE REAL PROBLEM AND TRY TO SOLVE. NOT LIKE U PEOPLE, WHO HAVE ONLY MISSION TO MAKE MONEY BY ANY MEANS. U SHOULD KNOW, WOMEN ARE FAR BETTER THAN MEN. YOU SHOULD THANK TO THE PEOPLE WHO ELECT YOU. U SHOULD NOT OPPOSE THIS BILL LIKE THIS WAY. AT LEAST U R AN EDUCATED PERSON AND CHAIRMAN OF A PARTY. THIS STATEMENT IS NOT FIT FOR U. BE EDUCATED MORE, THINK DEEPLY, THEN ACT IN THE PARLIAMENT. OTHERWISE PEOPLE WILL SAY U A BASELESS, TOPICLESS, SHAMELESS, WORKLESS LEADER.

Why wait to implement such a dood decision by jas on 06 Jun 2009

Mr Yadav,Your decision to commit suicide is so commendable that you should not wait for them to pass some bill to implement it.
