Kanpur Putting rest to all speculations about his daughter's film debut, actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha said he has allowed Sonakshi to be cast opposite Salman Khan as his father is a family friend.

"Our family has friendly relations with Salman's father Salim Khan, and the script is also pretty clean, so I permitted my daughter to act with him," Sinha said.

"There are speculations in the media regarding whether Sonakshi is doing her first film with Salman Khan or not. I want to clarify that she is doing the film with him," the BJP MP from Patna Sahib said.

"I have very old relations with Salim Khan. The Khan family has assured me that the script is really good and clean," he said.

Talking about his son Lav's film career, Sinha said, his film 'Sadiyan' is ready to be released soon. The film also stars Rishi Kapoor, Hema Malini and Rekha, and is directed by Raj Kanwar of the 'Deewana' fame.

Sinha has recently finished a film 'Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai' with Rekha, which is going to be released soon.

The film also has Hrishita Bhatt and Satish Shah playing prominent roles.

"I might sign another film soon, but I cannot reveal the details now," the actor said.

The veteran actor said he gets many film offers, but due to his involvement in active politics, he could do only one or two.

"Acting is my hobby as well as livelihood, so whenever I am offered a good film, I can't say no. But I am always cautious that my films do not affect my political career," he said.
