Shemlani hits 207; Don Bosco pile up 404

Mumbai, January 8 Ronit Shemlani hit up a sparkling almost run-a-ball 207 as Don Bosco Matunga) piled up 404 against IES New English (Bandra) in group D of the MSSA Giles Shield (Elite Division) Inter-School cricket tournament played at Cross Maidan,here on Tuesday.

Don Bosco, batting first lost two quick wickets, before Shreyas Iyer and Yash Chavan rallied with 99 runs stand for the third wicket to put them on road to a big total. Later, coming low down at No.7 Rohnit made merry on his way to double ton.

Joining Ronit among centurions were Parikshit Valsankar, who is still going strong with 152, Shivprakash Jaiswal 131, both from IES V.N.Sule Guruji, and Munib Shaikh, who scored an unbeaten 109 for Anjuman-I-Islam.

On a day when batsmen held upper hand, medium pacer Mayuresh Yelve (6 for 50 against Dr. S.Radhamrishnan and legspinner Pradeep Peshwa ( 5 for 81) against Don Bosco (Matunga) shared the bowling honours.
