It is a shame that, under Indian laws, criminals and scoundrels can seek elective offices. Is there no authority in India which has the ability and honesty to change the election laws and rules to make sure that only clean candidates contest elections?

Congratulations to Jharkhand voters who gave a right message for coming events and bad for corrupt politicians who are looting public money since 1947.

The Manmohan Singh Govt has messed up things all because of the nuclear deal with USA. In return for the Samajwadi party support he has had to order the suspension of CBI case against Mulyam Singh Yadav, and now for Shibu Soren's support he will have to make him a minister ( Coal? ) as he has lost his byelection which could have justifid his carrying on as CM of Jharkhand. Is there no shame amongst politicians - right from top to bottom?

Nice to see democracy working. Indian people are more democratic then leaders. Many times political parties will not leave them with any option. Choices generally are Chose a Murderer or Rapist. Well done people, now it is time for political parties to Dump this murderer.

If Shibu Soren tries to delay his resignation after getting defeated, he should be sacked by the governor. But, the governor may not have the courage to do it. It is time corrupt and criminals are shown the door. It is not known whether the Jharkhand Party candidate Patar is a worthy person.

defeat of the Soren shows that Indian voter and democracy has reached maturity, and money or power cannot buy votes. It is great vicotry for the belivers of true democracy.

Corrupt and criminals should be shown the way out in the electoral fray. Indian Politics can be cleansed only if enlightened voters use their discretion at the hustings.

People of Patar in particular and that of Jharkhand need to be congratulated for showing the maturity to defeat the notorious criminal background bearing Chief minister. Very seldom it occurs that a siting CM has defeated in Indian politics who has at it disposal all the govenmental machinery to minipulate the results. Of course I would also like to congratulate election commission for doing arrangement for a free and fair verdict.Kudos for that

It is a befitting reply by the illterate people of Tamar to one of the most hated criminals of politics. A person charged with serveral murder cases and convicted once for killing his own personal assistant, a persons who opened took bribe every time there is problem at the centre - whether it is Narasimha Rao or Manmohan Singh, needs to be removed from the political scene. If Jharkhand is to prosper elements like this need to be defeated. People of Tamar, congratulations, once again.
