Chandigarh, January 17 Ansul Chattarpati, son of slain journalist Ram Chander Chattarpati, has demanded shifting of the Dera Sacha Sauda case to either New Delhi or some southern state to ensure a free and fair trial.

Addressing a press conference here today, Ansul said Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was trying to pressure the government by requesting that the case be shifted from the special court in Ambala to Sirsa, where he has the maximum influence. “With the Haryana government favourably inclined to do his bidding, there is no chance of the victims getting justice,’’ said Ansul.

He said the CBI should file an application for cancellation of bail of the dera chief since he was the prime accused in the murder case and the government was spending a huge amount on his safety.
