London Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has said that she’s glad she didn’t get to see her dying friend Jade Goody - because she wants to remember her as the bubbly girl she met two years ago.

Shetty had planned to see the former Big Brother star on her trip to London but couldn’t meet her when Goody’s health deteriorated.

However, the 33-year-old winner of Big Brother said that she cherished the last phone conversation she had with Goody.

“I am happy in a way I haven’t got to see Jade,” the Sun quoted Shetty, as saying on her blog.

“It would’ve depressed me no end. I always want to remember her smiling, the feisty strong gregarious Jade, a true trooper,” she added.

However, Shetty admitted that she feels even worse knowing that if she'd planned her trip earlier, she would have been able to see Goody.

The actress said that she's been praying for Goody and has been keeping up-to-date with her progress with their shared publicist Max Clifford.

“I feel even worse ‘cause maybe I could’ve met her if I was here two days earlier. You are in my prayers Jade - you are destiny’s child," she said.

LEAVE HER ALONE!!! by SAM CLAY on 21 Mar 2009

WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH ALL OF YOU...YOU'RE LEAVING A LEGACY OF FILTH TO TWO YOUNG BOYS WHO HAD A MOTHER WHO HAD A DIFFICULT START IN LIFE....IT'S JUST DISGUSTING...THINK WHAT YOU LIKE...HAVE YOUR OPINION BUT BE DECENT AND KEEP IT WITHIN YOUR OWN CIRCLE OF PEOPLE AND NOT ON HERE, HAVE SOME DAMN DECENCY!!!!!!!!!!!

Jade Goody by Sam Clay on 21 Mar 2009

Talk about milking the limelight...this is a woman who accused a young girl with a father of afro caribbean roots of being a 'racist'. A woman who nearly ruined this young girl who came from humble beginnings but made cheap tv a must see! Jade was young girl who burst onto our screens full of life and fun and used this short lived fame to her full advantage and made a future for herself and her future family. All these celebs feeling bad are farce, but why make peace for their own make benefit.Jade you did girl...I loved you from the moment i saw you in the elastic bands tee hee...I read your story and watched all your tele...I was gutted as i nearly saw you in Dubai. Go peacefully my love knowing you touched the hearts of so many of us...It's not right that you're going but you won't be gone as we will have you in our hearts!Sleep sweet when your time comes to a friend i have never met...you made melaugh and cry..;.you will live on in your boys xx

none by John Grady on 20 Mar 2009

Shilpa Shetty is a big liar. How can she say those lovely things about Jade when everyone knows that in the BB house, Jade's racist attitude towards her was appalling. Its just rubbish.

Jade by Sam Clay on 21 Mar 2009

As for you John Grady...this is a 27 year old mother of 2 who is dying...keep your opinion to yourself as nobody wants to hear it...the same as the rest of the negative comments coming in...put yourself in that familys shoes...what if it was one of your own. Leave the poor kid alone!!!!!

Thats a very ignorant attitude John Grady by Tom on 20 Mar 2009

Shilpa shetty is a very intelligent and spiritual human being who has the capacity to forgive. Jad tried hard to show that she actually wasnt racist by going to Indian BB . Really it was more envy that the 3 girls fell prey to on that fateful BB - cos Shilpa had a rare beauty and refinement that they were jealous of. So less of the ignorant and judgemental comments Mr Grady! Silly Boy..

So equivalently it makes... by Reply on 20 Mar 2009

Equivalent argument to John Grady's would be that Jade Goody did not truly repent for being racist. So she was a racist and is a racist and will die as a racist? Hmmm... probably true.. the English never were the non-cunning lot - were they?

Zip it john grady by pati on 20 Mar 2009

John Grady, WHY?? if Shilpa can forget the past with compassion, how is she a liar? You know if every new day was based on the past, the whole world would be primative, no progress, just bitter nasty people like you!! Show some kindness, iminent death is not a time for judgment.Get a life.
