Mumbai, January 29 It’s performance appraisal time for the corporators of Shiv Sena in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. The saffron party, which is serving its third term in the civic body, has decided to analyse the performance of its corporators who have completed a year. They would report to Sena Executive president Uddhav Thackeray and give him an idea as to what extent they have been successful in implementing the party’s manifesto.

Leader of the house Sunil Prabhu who is co-ordinating the exercise in the civic body said that Thackeray has asked for individual reports of the elected representatives. “The corporators will prepare a report on the work carried out by them in their ward since their election,” he said.

Corporators who are in the standing, improvement, health, and education committees of the BMC have also been asked to present in writing about the decisions that they have taken to improve things for the citizens.

In addition to the individual reports, a separate assessment report will also be required to be prepared by the corporators on their contribution to the party manifesto which promised sufficient water supply, making well water usable, cleaning up of ponds, no potholes, playgrounds free of encroachments, better medical facilities at BMC hospitals, thrust on employment-oriented educational courses, solar power lighting at playgrounds and generation of power from waste among other assurances.

Standing Committee Chairman Ravindra Waikar said it was a welcome move. “It’s good that each one of us is to inform the party about the work done in a year. This way it will be known who has worked how much and what more needs to be done,” he said.

Prabhu will collect the reports from corporators and present them to Thackeray in the coming weeks.
