“Karkhana lagega Satna mein aur naukri karne aayenge Bihar se, ye hum honey nahin denge,” (Factories will be set up in Satna, but people from Bihar will get jobs in them, I won’t allow this) Chouhan told a ‘Garib Utthan’ (Uplift of the Poor) rally on Thursday.
The chief minister said he had asked factories to employ local people. “They will have to train local youths and employ them,” he said.
The statement provoked sharp responses from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD president Lalu Prasad, following which Chouhan backtracked.
“All I meant was that local people should be given priority over outsiders,” he clarified in Indore on Friday, adding that he had not meant any offence to Biharis.
In a letter to Chouhan, Nitish said: “Your statement regarding not employing Biharis in Madhya Pradesh is very objectionable. The people of the country enjoy a fundamental right to find a job in any part of the country on the basis of their talents and abilities.
“I request you to keep opening up job opportunities to people of all states and cooperate with them and ensure their safety,” Nitish wrote.
He refrained, however, from criticizing Chouhan in public. The BJP is a part of Nitish’s government in Bihar. No BJP leader in Bihar was willing to comment on Chouhan’s statement.
Lalu said Chouhan had “a narrow mind”, and had “insulted Bihar’s sentiments”.
State Congress chief Suresh Pachauri said the CM’s comments were “parochial” and “divisive”. Party spokesman KK Mishra said, “It seems Raj Thackeray’s soul has entered Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s body.”
The BJP has been searching for a thread to unite residents of Madhya Pradesh, where the general impression is that most people don’t identify with the state because they don’t have a stake in it. “Unlike Maharashtra and Gujarat, the residents of Madhya Pradesh don’t feel passionately about their state,” Chouhan said recently.
Chouhan’s government has recently come up with a ‘Madhya Pradesh Song’. A weeklong programme organized to mark the state’s foundation day on November 1 will conclude Saturday.

Well let you know that, national average income for each Indian is $1100. The bihar is $ 150 so its difference and its huge. Who is responsible for this probably politicians of bihar and UP. I don't blame people of bihar and UP. Its high time people of these states reject lalu, paswan, mayawati and mulayam. Nitish is doing good work and I hope these states will improve in future.
Thank you to all the politicians for humiliating the state. I heard someone got scared so what makes you scared. If you really love your country i challenge you to join army. Remember it may echo back and then don't blame each of yourself. Stop doing dog fight. Decrease population. Stop reservations on any basis let there be a share for intelligence rather than quotas. Don't decrease opportunity cost of other people GOD SAVE ME FROM MY REELECTION I NEED PERFECTION. Think Big. Spread love. God may force you to take good action.
This is copleteley uncontituitional remark by a CM. BJP should immediately remove this CM.Us, the people of India should teach a lesson to people like Chauhan /Thackrey etc., and the party supporting them.
The rich Indian states are no better than some of the poorest African and central American countries when compared by GDP. The pooer Indian states like Bihar have an even worse human index record. Non Biharis shouldnt get too pumped up on their supposed development, when they are amongest the dirt poor of the world. As for law and order in India, the less said the better. Biharis are murdered, Muslims and dalits are murdered. Caste kills caste and the country also has a naxal civil war. Madhya Pradesh is known to have some of the poorest districts and regions in India. Only Bhopal and the west near Gujarat has some sort of decent standard of living. The CM of MP would do better in helping those poor souls than picking on other desperate poor souls of Bihar and UP. Nothing happens in India if Biharis and UP'its are not involved. the rest of the countrys is either lazy or violent. Which is the lie that is labelled against Biharis and UP'its
The problem with Bihar and UP is people like Laoo, Pswan, Mulayam and Mayawati. The reason why people do not like Biharis is because they have stopped making people like Rajendra Babu and Jayprakash. There is no hatred for Bihar even in Maharashtra. Otherwise tell me how is it that a Rahul Saxena is so loved by SA Re Ga Ma Pa Marathi audience. We all want Biharis to come and prosper anywhere and everywhere in India but not the variety of Mulayam, Laloo, Abu Azmi, Paswan and Mayawati. Also if these Biharis are so fond of living their own state then let them also leave their state identity at home.
Telegana movement in AP is right all the Andhra should be sent back from Hyd. If Raj & Shijraj Thackeray is right! It is shame for BJP one tone they talk about Bharat mahan and other side they dont like low cast and other states. Where is Bharat Akhand? What about Ram? This is all bullshit of BJP, RSS & Shijsena.... Jai Hind... Murtuza Moosvi
The doublespeak of the BJP has come full circle. It has plumbed a new low in the politics of somersaults, contradiction and shifting sands. The party, whose principal plank was AKAHAND BHARAT had stooped low before MARATHI MANUS reservation agenda of Shiva Sena and now listen a clarion call, a latest diatribe by Shivraj Singh Chouhan - the roar of Lion Of Madhya Pradesh at Satna, %u201CHe would not allow %u201CBiharis%u201D to usurp jobs in the area. Karkhana lagega Satna mein aur naukri karne aayenge Bihar se, ye hum honey nahin denge. (Factories will be set up in Satna, but people from Bihar will get jobs in them, I won%u2019t allow this) .The chief minister said he had asked factories to employ local people. %u201CThey will have to train local youths and employ them%u201D. Article 16 says: Equality of opportunity in matters of public employment (1) There shall be equality of opportunity for all citizens in matters relating to employment or appointment to any office under the State. Does he ever read it?
Mr.Naqvi, your introspection and self-analysis are not atall congenial to the topic though most of the times you try your best to impress the readers with verbiage.Do you know BJP is a political Party and there is no poltical Party and a politician who won't use what you call Double-Speak.This is part of politics and diplomacy. What one has to care is the impact of such speaks on the people and the nation.Inconsistency is no necessary condemnation of a politician or of a party. There are times when most crucial problems/measures are advocated and the same are strennously resisted the next time.Changed circumstances, party strategy and indivisualinterests contribute to such mutations.Sudden reversals do have negative effect on moral-weights but if meant sincere for good and can be justified no one should dispute the integrity of the motives. The thought and desire behind Akhand Bharat was/is not what is being exaggeratedly propagated, which is merely meant to unite the people of existing Nation-Bharat.The internal uncontrolled/unplanned/undesired migration is a reason of hinderence of Nation's prosperity and shockingly filthy infrastructure.Pushing/encouring the people to greener pastures like animal is no solution but it the state Govts to improve job opportunities and other facilities for poor and needy within own regions where thy will feel more comfortable and achieve some happiness. Moreover the respionsible(irresponsibly)politicians of biharUP or other states remain inert and enjoy the luxuries of idleness for they don't have to do/care much.Naturally its the locals who have first rights to be employed/engaged.States like Maharashtra,Punjab,Assam,Karnatka are worst effected demographically and financially;and ofcourse low level crimes because of this inter-state migration.True,Equality of opportunity in matter of-----but if its so why muslims and othr socalled minorities are yammering for Reservations and special treatments!Reading or knowing Constitution is not all but practising it truely/sincerely is important.Constitutions are nothing but a book or document in which a system of fundamental Laws and principles are layed/written or recorded. This has always a space for changes/reforms or amendments.Indian Constitution needs immidiate reform for its no more compatible to the existing times/circumstances the country is going through. Its BJP/RSS main agenda/policy.They wish to see all equal Indians first before religions.I know you are anti-BJP/RSS and your tactfull and refined comments do leave a tinge of antipathy against not only BJP but Hindus, which is not for everyone to realize.
RSS was dividing hindus and Muslims now it is dividing Hindus vs Hindus. Shame on You RSS moroons
You fool RSS is doing best to unite Muslims, hindus and all communities under one banner of nationalism. All citizens are Indians(Bhartiya)and Equal(no reservations or special treatment based on religion, caste or creed). You and your sort are sod-Indians for they feel to be different than the main stream calling south-Indian.
Indian Express is posting only very selected emails, mainly, from Muslims and their postings are, naturally, anti-Hindu and anti-BJP. The fact is it is Indian media which is responsible for the down fall of India. Media has always ignored the most provocative and anti-Hindu statements by Congress, mainly Congress PMs, like "Muslims have the first claim...", "Ram didn't exist", "when a tree falls...." etc. This trivia reported by IE is so pathetic that no newspaper would have given second thought, it is because some bye elections are going on and it is the effort of media to compell Biharis to vote Congress and Muslims to wrench their Islamic intestines. Every abusive email from Muslims get priority. IE did not post my email because I mentioned how a Congress CM of Karnataka had told me to go north, south is not for north Indians. This news in IE is deffinitely to create mischief.
MP CM speech is correct. We must give a Preference for son of soils then only every state will be devloping then make india is a developed country. For example Kerala state did not have a lot of industries because of old communist policy. So those people from kerala finding jobs from neighbour states & over seas.We should not ignore Mr.Raj thackery comments on son of soils but mean while we dont have rights to beat other state people. We must develop infrastructure of every state in the county then our country develop automatically.
You seem to have no idea about the state of affairs in Kerala. Do you know how many labourers from Bihar, UP, Rajasthan, TN etc work in Kerala at present? Agreed Kerala is not much industrialised but the large number of Keralites who are employed in the US, Middle East etc are sending large amounts and this has created a job market for poor people from other states. Keralites always welcome these labourers. But the only side effect is that recently lots of thieves and robbers come from other states, which created a security problem in the state.

Whats wrong in what the CM says?? Should'nt the locals be given preference over the resources in that land rather than have outsiders come and create a burden on the existing system. Look at Bombay - the bihari & UP population that drives 90% of taxi and rickshaws have screwed up the traffic- they dont obey rules, double park on roads, and 95% of their meters are doctored!! the fine driving sense that once existed in Bombay has gone to the docs... Rgds Asif Ali rizvi
Communal parties like bjp-ss has no economical matter to be promissed to the voters therefore, they are fooling the voters by talking pro-Bihari & anti-Bihari. Bihar CM Nitishkumar should work hard with central Govt to to project industries or modernization of mines so that Bihar can give employment to Biharis & then this chapter will be closed automatically. After that Raj thackeray & bjp will not have any issue of emotional black-mailing.
It is high time that army pick up these traitors and put them behind bars or throw beyond the boarders. If these types of hate campaign continues, the time is not far where one state imposing penal sales tax on products manufactured in another state for not allowing its residents free access to opportunities there. That will be beginning of our fall as a nation. The real tragedy for our democracy is that the opposition space is virtually blank and Congress has a free run. Both the BJP and the left are a lost case (at least in the given circumstance). God save our country.
I agree but let start with Sonia and Quattrocchi. Is Indian judiciary impartial, honest and fearless?
When in India we have so deep Rasicism that we cannot tolerate Indians from someother states inside India, why do we cry horase when Indians are attacked in Australia and other conuntries, how do we feel if Indian working in US and others are sent back? Let the Bihari workers stop working and see HOW DELHI PREPARES / GET READY FOR COMMONWEALTH GAMES IN TIME WITOUT US!!!
Shvraj Chauhan's reported statement as a C.M. of Madhya Pradesh is wreckless and irresponsible. He should be sacked from the Chief Ministership and put behind bars. This sort of utterings will definitely create a division amongst ordinary citizen of different parts of India. I think Chauhan does not believe in the Constitution of India and or he is lacking basic education. No doubt, this sort of utterings definitely affect the unity of India.
he has not uttered any hate ,but he told practical thing that locals should be given preference to others, what is wrong in saying tht?
Such a comment from the Chief Minister of BJP, a national party, is shocking. Unfortunately, all the political parties are out to destroy the unity of country on caste, creed and religion lines for their vested interests. The divide has become so deep routed that we do not identify ourselves as Indians. We are Jats, Gujjars, Yadavs, Punjabis, Gujratis, Maharashtrians, Biharis, Sikhs, Muslims and so on. Instead of integrating the country, the politicians have destroyed the basic fibre of this country. Surely, the generations will have to pay a heavy price for it. It is still not too late to put an end to the cheap and mean politics. The people of this country must wake up if they want that this country is not disintegrated. Had the government of India dealt with Raj Thackrey with a heavy hand, no one would have dared to follow him.
Mr. Gera,Will you tell us, you are from which part of India? What is the status in your state? Does your state administrator are so broadminded, who think about National Integrity? Are there any state in India, who works for National Integraty? Please do not be bais, and do not nurtured hatred towards like "Raj Thakrey to be dealt with a heavy hand". Nothing good will come out of this. So try to improve the attitudes of other state and then speak about Maharashtra. Maharashtrian are more tolerant, so they have accommdating all types of people. But if these classes are becoming selfish, adamant, criminals, and trying to destroy the culture of Maharashtra, then who will tolerate?Be resonablly sound.Regards
Mr Milind who is a criminal...one who is working out in the SUN driving his taxi or Ironing clothes so that the "tolerant Maharashtrians" can go to their office etc..or one who vandalize and smash up Taxi and beat them cause they look and speak a differnt language....??? If that is an Example of an tolerant Maharashtrian then we shd think about changing the meaning of tolerant.....
From whatever M.P.CM. spoke and backtracked(as per SG of IE) the editor has to learn a lesson.Shivrajsinh has at least backtracked.Mr.Gupta has never opposed even wrong doings of Congress. Is it a service or disservice to the NATION?Is he ashamed of it?Is he not responsible to bring great IE(of the past)to yellow journalism? is he prepared to backtrack at least in NATIONAL interest? The answer is clear that is"NO".
BJP JOINS HANDS WITH ANTI-HINDI, ANTI-HINDU SHIVSENA IN MAHARASHTRA, NOW ITS RSS PRACHARAK IN MP DOES NOT NEED BIHARIS.RSS IS ON THE VERGE OF DIVIDING HINDUS.
This "sons-of-the-soil" approach is nothing new in any part of India, but some are covert while some are very much explicit as in Maharashtra and now in MP. In fact, it was started first by the Congress when they introduced Article 370 in J
Be assured that Maharashtra or MP or Assam are not the last uprising against uncontrolled migration for Bihar-UP. There is sign that Punjab may be the next. Uncontrolled migration in many states like Assam, Tripura, and West Bengal has changed the demography, economy, living standard for local people. Working condition, wage structure and law and order has deteriorated. India needs to enact laws to protect local culture and economy and implement a true federal democracy where states have more power. The best way forward for a culturally diverse country like India is to acknowledge its diversity and protect that. I hate to speak Hindi or English in many shops, hotels, restaurants, and airport in my own state of Bengal. Business establishments must employ people who can speak local language, at least. If I am not happy with Hindi-English onslaught, then I will support any party that shares my concern(s).
WE HAVE LOTS OF BENGALIS IN RANCHI/DEOGHAR...EVEN IN PARTS OF DELHI..SHOULD WE THROW THEM OUT???S
Who wanted really freedom? Study history. Financial aristocratic Indians and erstwhile Rulers of scattered India who were put under the servility service of highly cultured and modern weaponized British rule. While erstwhile rulers lived with ancient culture, weapons and subjects were under bondage. Masters became slaves who want liberation, freedom and independence. A common Indian sees British and erstwhile Indian Rulers are equal. Beneficiaries of British rule are Rulers, their followers who now live in British Style. Coolies were enjoyed life with remuneration from British though presently they have to tumult for daily needs against Indian-British. All Indians have become cultural slaves of British and patriotism have become a commodity that can be easily transacted with anybody including the Hicks to the Top Leaders though they are blaring. When dark side come in to light, World may be astounded.
The divide, hate and mistrust appears to have become the theme of this BJP, and it wants its followers to adopt these properties so that they can vote for it and its few leaders can enjoy power.
While I totally reject CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan's statement strongly with all possible means, I would urge Bihari leaders, it was your looting / mismanagement of Bihar, Biharis are hated at many places. Had you developed Bihar at part with other states, migration would have minimal, rather than in large scale, but at present Nitish Kumar is trying hard, but it will take certain some time. I wish Nitish Kumar with his intelligent Engineer mind could be in power till 2020, then Bihar's may achieve certain height of development, as drawn by Father of India's Missile Technology, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam. Being root in Bihar & Jharkhand, I have seen in Jamshedpur people from all over India comes and works in various Tata's plants, shall I expel all outsiders?????? Certainly, NO, because Constitution of India allows its citizen to work, live and earn its livelyhood anywhere in the country at his/her own choice. I would URGE central BJP leadership to issue GAG order to Shivraj to refrain from
If Australia does the same to Indians or Kiwis or Brits or slit eyes it would have been labelled as racist. However, in India when an elected politician holding an important constiutional post utters such nonsence, there is not even one comment here. BJP%u2019s Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan trampled on the Indian consitution and shall be punished along with those bearded Saudi affliated half educated Mullahs who "issued" fatwa against Indian Muslims singing Vandemataram in their own country.
True. Nobody says anything when the Mullah;s try subversive stunts.
Do not dare to comment on religious leaders.Do not compare the RSS goons with Muslim clerics.RSS is involved in Rapes, murders and demolitions. All Muslim, Christian and sikh leaders condemned Godhra, but no Shankaracharya conedmned the Rapes and genocide in Gujarath.
The deoband Mullahs, Jamait-e-Ulema Hind, SIMI, are terrorist organizations and any body supporting them is a terrorist himself
I am a Catholic and differ with RSS strongly. BUT Gujarat happened coz a train was burnt by the corrosive muslim crowd. Learn to live peacefully. I am sorry you cant, as your Koran says that no other religion should exist except Islam!!! So if you dont want to coexist peacefully with others in this country and indulge in Jihad... then be sure you will be responded to in kind.
YOU ARE PAYING THE PRICE FOR BEING SILENT ON ATTROCITIES ON MUSLIMS.
Bullshit Mr.Chouhan !! half of your administartive officers in M.P cadre is from Bihar..Politicians like you and Raj Thakry is dividing the nation..You had tarnished the image of BJP and ur party is keeping mum over it..Shameless !!
