Junagadh, March 15 Four BJP corporators in the Junagadh Municipal Corporation (JMC), who had raised their voice against the functioning of the body, have been slapped show cause notices for indiscipline and anti-party activities.

The four have been asked to furnish their answers, failing which strict action will be taken against them, party sources said.

BJP corporators from ward no. 4 and 5, Prafulla Kherala and Manu Mokaria have pointed out to past failures against the corporation in providing adequate water supply in their respective ward areas.

Two more corporators from the same ward, Haresh Parsana and Gopal Rakholia had approached the media in this connection. The BJP high command has taken serious note of this, as the corporators' action has tarnished the party's image in the public, said sources.

When contacted, Junagadh city BJP unit president Karsanbhai Dhaduk, while admitting the issuance of said notice, said, “Following the nod from the state BJP, show cause notices have been issued to the four corporators. In spite of their demand having been met, the corporators had unnecessarily acted against the party’s guidelines, which is a clear violation of the party line.” He said they have now been asked to explain why disciplinary action should not be taken against them.

“If they will fail to reply or their reply does not satisfy the party leaders, stern action would be initiated against them,” he said.
