When not scripting her next film or with her babies, Farah Khan loves to play judge on TV

With Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar edging towards the end, tell us about your experience as a judge?
Judging this show has been a happy experience. Judges do not have to fight, and my co-judges, Vishal and Shekhar, are good friends. The participants are phenomenally talented and it was pleasant listening to them.

Who among the six finalists do you think will win the contest?
All the six are deserving contestants. However, I feel Abhijeet Sawant and Debojeet Sahahave been consistently very good, while others have had their good and bad days.

Since drama in reality shows is mostly scripted, how much of your involvement was real?
None of that has been fake. The focus is on talent. I would love to watch drama in reality shows though would not like to be a part of it. It’s like watching an accident. Everybody likes to stop and have a look. Whoever says he doesn’t is lying. However, on a Mother’s Day episode all of us turned emotional and cried. It was real. Otherwise I should get an Oscar for acting.

Do you think winning reality shows helps contestants to get a break?
I don’t know about getting a break but it helps them in their career. After two shows, they buy houses, support their families and become celebrities in their own states. They eventually turn into playback singers.

So who among them are you taking for your next film?
I am taking all of them. I have decided that.

Is your next a musical then?
Currently, I am scripting that. It might head that way. After all, all Bollywood movies with six songs are musicals. I would be making my kind of film: young, fun and entertaining.

You have said earlier that you want to keep this year for TV shows. What are you doing next?
I have offers to do two-three reality shows as well as chat shows. But I haven’t decided yet.

Tell us about Farah Khan, the mother.
I spent most of my time with my three children—Diva, Anya and Czar. They are four-and-a-half months old and are really fun to be with. They are learning to recognise me with a big smile, and to babble. I don’t feel like staying away from them. Because of them, I said I want to concentrate on TV this year.
