Whether it's the curve of the letters or the way the ink goes deep into the paper...writing with a fountain pen is an experience itself. At Mont Blanc, they take serious pride in getting it all 'write'. Considered largely to be a "cultured" writing instrument brand in the world, the company has passion and belief in the power and value of the written word. And this Sunday saw its city-based boutique send out invites for a special service camp. A broken nib, a loose cap, a stuck-up valve...the unique service event gave customers an opportunity to bring in their Mont Blanc products for servicing. "This complimentary service includes cleaning, polishing and engraving of writing instruments," mentioned boutique manager Anaheeta Mehra who also informed of special technicians being called in to service the products and answer any customer queries.

The all black and white boutique played host to the camp and also gave everyone a chance to check out the brand's new line-up. It's the scented inks that got us first. "Mont Blanc has a special range of inks that go from specials like 'love letter' to 'cinnamon'. The colours are equally varied stepping away from just black and blue," added Mehra, as she flipped open the year's latest catalogue for the pens boasting of gem encrusted versions. But it's brand's oldest and first model (also a fountain pen), known as the Meisterstück or Masterpiece that had us itching to write! "It's been a 100 years since it was crafted and it remains a bestseller to date," tells the team at Mont Blanc, who mention new arrivals that are dripping with diamonds. "Another popular collection is the Starwalker range," added Mehra, as we glossed over the pens in colours as rich as amethyst, Bordeaux and even all-gold.

While the pens are worth pocketing (keep a couple of double digit thousands in your wallet) as well as the handsome leather accessories to go along, it's their new sterling silver jewellery range, perfumes, cologne, watches as well as a fashionable eyewear that's worth a look. "The best part is that you may personalize your purchase by engraving or embossing the initials," Mehra added.
