She adds that the company believes in maintaining exclusivity of the product. This is the reason the ‘Bowl fruit pergue’, priced Rs 8,72,050, can be seen only in Ludhiana store. The coffee set priced Rs 1,39,800, are also not more than 20 in number, all over the country. Says Archna, “The bridge tea set is priced at Rs 1,64,890, and the company has decided to make only 21 pieces of this design. Or take the Victorian tray, priced at Rs 3,40,340. So far, only four such trays have been made. The tray was first made in 1869 in London, and only we have the design.”
The company also makes idols in a blend of terracotta and sterling silver, along with gold plating. “The terracotta idol of Lord Shiva is priced at Rs 73,620. The ‘Ganesh Trilok’, priced at Rs 15,190, was a hot selling gift this Diwali season. The ‘Nimbu Mirchi’ with silver and gold plating is also much in demand,” says Archna.
Sanjay Arora, the owner of Kalamandir, is expecting good sales of this brand because the company had a turnover of Rs 10 crores last year, and is expected to cross Rs 20 crore this year. “Since the brand has a good name, I am not worried about the response. The footfalls on Day One were indicative of good demand,” smiles Arora.
