The 19-year-old 'Run It!' hitmaker was reportedly caught flirting with Lewis by his 20-year old girlfriend Rihanna.
The argument between Brown and Rihanna became so violent that he allegedly attacked his girlfriend and gave her a swollen face, 'The Mirror' reported.
Brown was seen speaking to Lewis at a pre-Grammy awards party in Los Angeles.
"Rihanna saw Chris flirting. He and Leona were laughing and Rihanna saw his hand on the small of her back. It was totally innocent but it set Rihanna off," a source told the newspaper.
Police sources said the 'Umbrella' singer lost consciousness as Brown screamed at her "I'm going to kill you".
Since the alleged attack, Rihanna has been hiding and cancelled her second concert in Jakarta.
The singer's grandmother Clara Braithwaite reassured fans yesterday, "I don't want people to worry. Rihanna is fine and she is doing well".

One wonders as to what is happening?If one couple is just attached, then either cannot have such violent concerns about the other flirting with the 'third' one. To obviate such ill feelings, wed lock is the answer.In any case Leona Lewis( Photo above) is worth the fight at least from Chris Brown's point of view.Any body will be tempted.
If this act of violence is true and he threatened to kill her then Mr. Brown should be charged with attempted murder. It doesn't take much of a man to beat a woman. This coward should get his just desserts if found guilty.
