A morning with Krunk
Combine storytelling and a labrador named Krunk, and you have a Sunday morning treat that kids are bound to enjoy. Taking place at the Crossword bookstore is an animal assisted reading program called Tails of Joy. The guest of honour will be Krunk, a doe eyed golden labrador who assists children in reading. He enjoys being told stories, and will listen patiently to the children. Being held in association with Animal Angels, the session aims to encourage the habit of reading through interaction with trained animals. The session, which is open to children of all ages, will take place at the Sohrab Hall outlet from 11.30am to 12.30pm on February 17.

Premiere of Doghat tisra ata sagla visra
Doghat tisra ata sagla visra, a Marathi film directed by Kanchan Adhikari was premiered at City Pride, Kothrud on February 14. Makrand Anaspure, Marathi film actor and Kanchan Adhikari, director and producer were present for the occasion. "My earlier films were based on some or the other social cause, so those films did not need any optical effects. But this film is a comedy and needed all those effects. So we had to work a lot during the post production stage," said Adhikari. The film is being released all over Maharashtra at the same time. " During the entire film, there is not a single moment where the audience is going to get bored. I believe that all actors are good, as a director I have to make clear what I want from them. I am very sure that my film is going to be a super hit," she added.

Barrister on vcd
Theatre lovers in Pune will be happy to learn that the renowned Marathi play Barrister written by late Jaywant Dalvi was recently released on VCD and DVD. "Barrister was produced with an objective of archiving this great play under the direction of Vikram Gokhale," said producer Nandini Jog. The hugely popular play is an important landmark for Marathi theatre. A combination of a strong storyline, powerful characters, set on a background of depressing social reality of that time is what makes Barrister a great tragedy. Vikram Gokhale, who is also its editor, has directed the VCD version. He said, "Barrister is matchless in its depth of emotion and meaning. I accepted the responsibility of directing the VCD with the objective of communicating its meaning fully to its viewers". Lending a stellar performance is Sachin Khedekar in the lead and supporting him is the strong cast that includes Ila Bhate, Aniket Vishwasrao and Sujata Joshi.
