Ex President A P J Abdul Kalam - a true Indian by SHans on 05 Jan 2009

Our earlier President is a true Indian nationalist who through his sheer hard work has risen to the highest post . It shows that all can benefit from the modern India if they want and there is no discrimination within indians unlike the message being given to youngsters from minor religious community. I am proud that we have such muslim brethen in our community who can be role model for all indians irrespective of our caste, creed or religion. A true Indian by heart and action. Country and humanity must come first. Religion is personal issue and should be left to individuals. My salutations to him.

Did he speak only about terror? by Jayadevan on 04 Jan 2009

The media seems to be hung up on terror. You didn't hear AK talk about the need for quality education and the need for academics to be partners in the development of the country? Looked at dispassionately, terror is way down on the list of dangers faced by us. These is the ever present corruption that costs us almost as much as our GDP every year in terms of leakage and agin in terms of poor infrastructure. There is evasion of taxes and excise duties, which robs the exchequer of the funds it needs to spend for development, oh, also modern equipment and training for the cops, if you please. There are starving children all over India, Madhya Pradesh is below sub-Saharan Africa in access to food. You have a future if you survive. At this rate, we wouldn't have much of an India to defend. In the old days, people migrated to India. We know pillaging armies came over the Khyber pass, quite a lot of the soldiers settled down in this then rich country. Now all we want is a visa to the USA.

The police are treated like "chaprasis" of VIPs.How can they have the training and morale to defend society?Unless policing is improved criminals and terrorists alike have a free run in India

Smash terror hideouts...APJ by A.A.Choudhari on 04 Jan 2009

Dr Kalam, we really remember you and the great Statesman Bajpai at this juncture. No one in the UPA Government has your dashing approach. We are so unlucky that we miss both of you, now.

UPA is clamouring for extradition of terrorists responsible for Mumbai attack. What about the sleeper cells abounding in almost all cities of India who help and give support to the terrorists from Pakistan and Bangladesh.UPA will not disturb them as they the voters of Sonia congress.

Kalam the Patriot by Murali on 04 Jan 2009

Kalam Sir,You are a true patriot. It is unfortunate that people like you are not in power. You boldly stated the obvious crying need of the hour. The clowns who run the country will never understand this simple fact.

DR. KALAM'S COMMENTS ON TERROR HIDEOUTS by DR. VINOD PATEL on 04 Jan 2009

HERE IS A TRUE INIDAN CITIZEN WHO IS LOOLING OUT FOR HIS NATION. HE IS DR. ABDUL KALAM, WHO JUST HAPPENS TO BE AN INDIAN MUSLIM. HE UNDERSTANDS THAT TERRORISM CAN ONLY BE PREVENTED BY STOPPING THE PEOPLE WHO BREED AND NURTURE IT REGARDLESS OF THE LAND WHERE IT ORIGINATES FROM. I WISH ALL INDIANS UNDERSTOOD THIS. DR. KALAM HAS ALWAYS PROVIDES A LUCID, PRAGMATIC, SCIENTIFIC AND THE ONLY POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO INDIA'S PROBLEMS. THIS IS ONE PERSON WHO SPEAKS FOR THE PRESENCE AND THE FUTURE OF INDIA AND PLANET EARTH. HE IS THE PHYSICIST IN THE TRUEST MEANING OF THE WORD PHYSICS. HE LOVES MOTHER EARH AND HUMAN BEINGS.. PEOPLE OF THE WORLD CAN LEARN FROM HIM. THIS MEANS KILLING TERRORIST AND THE ONES WHO BREED THEM AND NURTURE THEM. OBSERVE THE BEHAVIOUR OF U.S. AND ISRAEL. INDIAN POLITICIANS, PLEASE LEARN FROM HIM. IN ORDER TO PROTECT A STRONG ECONOMIC WEALTH, WE NEED STRONG ARMED FORCES AND ALL THE NEW TECHNOLOGIES, WITH A RESOLVE TO ACT IMMEDIATELY AND NOT WAIT 40 YEARS.

Dr. APJ's statement on terror by Subbu on 04 Jan 2009

Dr. APJ has said correctly. It is a serious thing. There is no point in begging for Pakistan's mercy. Sri Lanka has proved that by discussion alone a peaceful climate cannot be created as LTTE took the advantage of time factor for re-assembling its troupe and trouble the Sri Lankan government. By strong action the Sri Lankan government has received the applause of the world over. Similarly the fight near the gaza region between Hamas and Insreal. What we need now is a strong action and teach Pakistan a real lesson, anybody within India talking against the Indian government in this action should be put on rigorous imprisonment.

smash terrorist hideouts by M S MANI on 04 Jan 2009

Dr kalam is absolutely correct, th cancer must be delt with severly but at the same time the other parts must not be damaged ie., the common man of Paks, due to few religious bigoted mad caps, we should not alienate the common people of Paks who I am sue must be secular in their outlook otherwise till date in all elections in Paks all the religious party secured miniscule of vote percentage. If the Paks army is isolated and put in their place that will be begining of end of terrorist groups in Paks.

Smash Terror Hide out.. by M Kutty on 04 Jan 2009

Well said Sir! Hope we should have more leaders like Dr. Kalam!

Value of Indian Life by SK on 04 Jan 2009

Dr. Kalam's words shows the inability of this government of taking actions when country requires. If we do not use all these defense systes at the right time then what is the use of building them? Given an option this government would rather make an Museum for them rather using them for what they were developed for. Dr. Singh, we all respect you as a great economist who gave India a dream of becoming a Global Power as a Finance Minister. Sir, we can not think of becoming a Global leader when we can not take of our own problems and rely on others to solve for us. We can not become even a regional power with such attitudes. When will we learn to respect the value of an Indian LIFE?

Considering the tenure and experience of Mr. Kalam, this should be the final answer to the Indian government to excute action.

Kalam does not fit as an Indian policy maker by Abhijit on 04 Jan 2009

No wonder Dr Kalam is kicked out from Presidentship. He is too honest and straightforward to be tamed by our selfish and coward politicians. None of our current policy makers will pay any head to his suggestions anyway.

Kalam My President by Sam on 04 Jan 2009

My Kalam may not be the current president of the country but he is and will be the president in the hearts of any Indian. The man who gave the presidential seat a pride is my most loved follower os Islam. I respect Islam for the people like him. Now he has come out with some ways to help us solve this menace i wish our Self centered politicians atleast listen to him now....

Mr. Kalam by prem kumar on 04 Jan 2009

India should bring an executive order to make Mr. Abdul Kalam the defacto CEO of India for the next five years. This will give India a muchneeded break from the corrupt system. India will be a superpower in next five years, with effective handling of terrorism , poverty , illiteracy and infrastructure. The congress will not be able to fool people with its Garibhi Hatao program. India desperately needs the services of this great pioneer.

True idiot Mr Kalam by AQ Khan on 04 Jan 2009

Mr Kalam should stick to talking about missiles, not diplomacy. How did he ever become the President, with a loose mouth like this. Destroying militant camps sounds very easy, but India doesn't have the necessary military strength for this. And Pakistan is not going to sit and watch while Indian planes bomb Pakistani soil. This kind of idiotic comment coming from such a prominent public figure is truly regrettable; especially at a time when the government is trying to avoid escalating the situation into an all out war.

Corruption- take steps to zero it... by Varun on 04 Jan 2009

I didnt doubt the credibility of Dr.Kalam.. While he was the President of India, he should have taken the interest of controlling the terrorism.. He would have taken actions to control it..Many persons died due to terrorism in Jammu since I started understanding the meaning for the word terrorism from 1987.. He should have taken extra effort to control the menace during his President regime. Once again, I say that I didnt doubt the crdibility of Dr.Kalam. Dont waste the tax money. We, the people of India support any Govt., but control the terrorism..B4 that control corruption..Its a kind of terrorism in govt. office.. So, I request all the politicians

India and terror by Jogee Mathew on 04 Jan 2009

Appropriate vision by Dr.Kalam. I would like to add with that we need POTA like law to curb provocative speaches and igniting communal / regional violence by a section of leaders of religious and regional parties. It is shame to India that we cannot stop communal violance since independence. These violances made it easy to recruit terrorists of Indian orgin by our enemies. Also need to destroy all armed training units of Sanga Parivar and RSS units to keep India free of evils. Let the rule of land and it's police, military to previle insted of these organisations to act above to the law of land.

What Dr. Kalam say has lot of merits, and trust me when he say that he knows more then PM Manmohan Singh or Sonia Maino. Go for it Mr. Singh.

Dr. Kalam's advice by Kalpathy Venkataraman on 03 Jan 2009

Dr. Kalam is a true Gandhian in today's violence filled world and his advice to smash terrorist hide outs has to be taken rather seriously. It reminds me of the story from Mahabharata where Lord Krishna put up with the abuses of Shisubala one hundred times. On the hundred and first time, Lord's chakra beheaded Shisubala. Even the supreme Lord's patience and mercy had limits. We have put up with the terrorist activities from Pakistan soil for a long time without giving fitting response even once. We can't hold back our action on the assumption that Pakistan is a nuclear power. If we don't take action now, it only gives an impression of weakness. Pakistan damn well knows that if they dare to use nuclear weapons, the entire Pakistan will go up in flames. If Pakistan refuses to deliver the criminals to India then India should resort to surprise surgical strikes with in Pakistani territories. If we can't do this why should we invest billions of dollars in expensive weapons? For kick back?

We need people like Dr Kalam to speak out by S,Balakrishnan on 03 Jan 2009

Why cant people like Dr. Kalam lead the nation. Dr Kalam should start a new national party that is at once secular and for real progress devoid of corruption. His vision is widely shared by the public but falls on deaf years with the present government. They did not want to extend his tenure as President since he was more popular than the Nehru dynasty and that is an anathema. Dr. Kalam is above petty politics of jealousy and bitterness and revenge and is for the ultimate triumph of India in the world. We need leaders like him to take charge. God bless him and give him a long life so that he can speak out and possibly lead the nation from the present corruption ridden dynasty rule that we have come to witness.
