Mumbai, January 21 A 32-Year-Old software professional, Ninad Thakur, has been missing for over a month after he left for Mumbai from his hometown Nashik.

According to his brother-in-law Prashant Rotwadkar, Thakur left his residence at Hariniwas near the famed Kalika Temple at Nashik on a TVS Star City motorcycle (MH-15 BP 1721) on December 16, 2007 for discussing a software project with a private firm.

“His wife Trupti called him up on December 17, 2007 at 11 am. He replied that he had reached Mumbai safely and was put up in a room at Dadar. He said that he would return in a couple of days,” said Rotwadkar. That was the last Trupti heard from her husband.

Thakur, Rotwadkar said, had told his wife that he would park the bike at Nashik Road Railway station. After not being able to contact him, Trupti (28) again called him up on his mobile phone but it was switched off.

Rotwadkar also didn't find the bike at the parking lot at Nashik Railway station.

Thakur is a commerce graduate from KTHM College at Nashik and later did a software development course. He was employed with Agro Foyer, an IT firm which he had quit six months ago. He then started working as a freelance software development professional.

“Last he had developed a software for catering establishments in Nashik and it was in this regard he had met somebody from Mumbai who had evinced interest in his project,” said Rotwadkar. On December 16, 2007 when Thakur left for Mumbai, it was his first trip to the city.

The Thakur couple-they got married four years go-has no issues. “He was soft spoken and well mannered. He had no addictions and there is nothing in his trait that could explain his long absence,” said Rotwadkar.

A missing report was lodged at the Sarkarwada police station at Nashik on December 23, 2007 and Assistant Sub-Inspector S D Malekar is investigating the case. Any information regarding Ninad Thakur can be given at the following numbers-09823191431 and 0253 2319621.
