New Delhi Congress leader Digvijay Singh, who has landed in controversies with provocative comments, admitted for the first time that party chief Sonia Gandhi had ticked him off when he criticised Home Minister P Chidambaram last year for his anti-Maoist strategy.

The 'only gag' on me was after I wrote a piece on Chidambaram. "She (Gandhi) did tick me off and I went and apologised to Chidambaram," Singh told Karan Thapar on "Devil's Advocate" programme on CNN-IBN.

Singh had stoked a controversy by calling Chidambaram "intellectually arrogant" and said his approach on the Maoist issue was a "narrow sectarian view, treating it as a purely law and order problem".

Queried whether his controversial statements were bringing Rahul Gandhi a bad name as he is his advisor, the AICC General Secretary said, "Absolutely wrong. I am neither an advisor nor a mentor to Rahul Gandhiji."

Persistently asked about the issue, Singh said when did he say that he was an advisor to Rahul. "Who has said that I am a mentor to Rahul Gandhiji. No one in my party has said this to me."

Seeking to blunt allegations that he was communalising terror, Singh said he was not doing so and suggested that it was senior BJP leader L K Advani and his party who should be blamed for this if it was so.

"People who have communalised this first of all is people like L K Advani who went to the Prime Minister with a delegation when the ATS Maharashtra arrested Sreekant Purohit, Pragya Thakur and Dayanand Pandey and others in the Malegaon blast. BJP went in a delegation to the Prime Minister. Are they not communalising the issue?" he shot back when asked about the allegations.

Mr.digvijay singh shows great immaturity and poor judgement when he says the Hindu organisations are responsible for Mumbai blasts when the truth is known to every one, who is attacking this city time and again. He should think hard before he speaks.

His Master's Voice. by P.H.Bhanage on 25 Jul 2011

So it is clear from (his) this explanation that he would bark/bite at the instance of his Mistress.Whatever poison he vomits; it is with this mafia lady's support. This mafia has many heads when one mouth says that it supports campaign against corruption the other equally ugly head tells this dog to bark. So disillusionment should be over for those who still vouch about her resolve to put an end to corruption.

Hindu sentiments by vasisth on 25 Jul 2011

Digvijay uses Hindu bashing and calls it secularism. He along with Nehruvian secularists believe Secularism is and will be denying Hinduism any role in India. In otherwords, Nehruvian secularists believe all religions are same in India and Indic religions have no special place and thus they want eratidicate any ties between Indic faiths and India. If anybody objects to this cultural suicide, they are branded as Extremists at par with Al Quaida or other terrorists broups. In other words in the birth place of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism, they are no different to Islam or Christianity. If anybody questions the economic might of Missionaries to lure and convert uneducated and poor with benefits, they are branded as extremists. If people are lured to convert to Christianity, it is normal and it is their right but if these converted are lured to reconvert to Hinduism, it is branded as extremist. It makes me to think Digvijay Singh is in the payroll of merchants of faith

Sonia ticked me off on comments on Chidambaram: Digvijay by Satyajit on 24 Jul 2011

Now we know the reason why Digvijay Ji is making all sorts of statements these days. He is testing waters to mend his way back into the fold and as a frightened child goes on making funny faces to attract the attention of his parents, he is doing the same thing.

tolerate Corruption and Terrorism by Mani on 24 Jul 2011

I agree with Digvijay that we should ignore corruption and terrorism. We should know how to tolerate corruption and Terrorism. All political parties should enter into an agreement to divide the loot and nobody should waste time in discussing corruption. It will help India to grow faster.
