Hyderabad, February 13: Hitting out at Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for stalling Assembly proceedings, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy on Wednesday said the final decision on the contentious Telangana issue had been left to the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

“After lot of deliberations, the Congress and TRS had decided to leave the matter to Sonia Gandhi. When the issue is under her consideration, it is not proper on the part of TRS to create ruckus over it,” he said.

Reddy was interacting with the media in the Assembly premises soon after TRS members obstructed the business insisting on introduction of a resolution favouring formation of separate Telangana state.

Rejecting the demand for tabling a resolution on Telangana, he pointed out that TRS leadership was party to the decision to leave the matter to Gandhi and said her verdict should be binding on all.

“She (Gandhi) is the judge on this matter. Since she is seized of the matter, it is wrong on the part of TRS to put pressure like this,” the Chief Minister said.

The Legislative Affairs Minister K Rosaiah also took objection to the manner in which TRS members stalled the Assembly leading to its abrupt adjournment for the day.

“If they repeat the same behaviour tomorrow, we will be forced to take action as per the Assembly rules,” he warned.

Meanwhile, the TRS MLAs T Harish Rao and N Narasimha Reddy demanded apology from Congress for “betraying the Telangana cause”.

Ruling out meeting the Congress President to sort out the matters, they said, “We only want Congress to fulfill the promise it made in the 2004 elections on granting statehood for Telangana."

Sonia will have the final say on Telangana issue: Reddy by P T Suresh on 14 Feb 2008

Dear Countrymen,It was not that British fought a war in India to take control of the country but the Indians accepted the supremacy of British. Similarly, today, we are having a situation that Indians has given up all their decision making powers as to reorganise a state to the great architect called Smt Sonia Gandhi. It is not fair to blame Smt Gandhi for every bad thing the congress does, but the Indians in the congress party. It is they who gave the mantle to Smt Gandhi to decide instead of even discussing democractically in a forum and coming out with a decision. It is nothing but a shame for all of us. Mr Reddy speaks as if he is not a Chief Minister and no a independent citizen of India but a slave to Smt Ghandhi. What can we do? Rgds

who gave rights to decide telangan issue by Mano on 14 Feb 2008

This is really shame for Andhra People. I want to know, who give rights to Sonia to decide to devide sasyasamala Andhra Pradesh(Andhra the great culture in the world)? I know this started by the Telugu Drohi KCR for his political background, now draging by Congress people. If really Telanga people have to procted and devide Telanga, my suggesion is don't go with TRS, CONGRESS or who is supporting Telanga Now. (Including godameeda pilli Telugu Desam and BJP). It should decide by all people in Andhra Pradesh. I strongly belive that the stat of Telangana request not for People welfare it is only leaders stunt.

Our nation is not Sonia father's property by Vidhur on 14 Feb 2008

Our nation is not Sonia father's property. Samuel Reddy, the convert christian, was made CM by the Italian christian to promote christianism in AP and the nation. Samuel Reddy yesterday offered Haj subsidy for his christian brothers to visit Israel. HIndus of AP, are you people so shameless? A state with less than 1 percent christian population, now ruled by a christian. Can you Hindus think to have Hindu CM in Nagaland, Meghalaya, Mizoram, J

absolute BS by andhrudu on 14 Feb 2008

I am totally aghast with the statement given by bootlicking congress leaders that sonia's decision is final. And they proclaim they have been serving AP for decades and for a major decision as this they just want to pass on the baton to someone who is just a widow of a once upon a time leader and has no credentials none so ever as to the legitamacy of her position in congress. Its just been happening forever they put up a dummy head on congress and carry on with their whims and fancies and just create a notion among ppl that they worship their leader where in fact they are misleading the public and squeezing out the common man to propogate their hidden agendas(religion, caste and what not bs). My blood just boils looking at how they play with the general public.

Sonia and Telangana by M T Raju on 13 Feb 2008

Ever since Independence, Congress party has been a dictatorial party and the word 'democracy' has been an anathema to it. Nehru lead a party of imbeciles and Indira Gandhi was virtual dictator, who destroyed every demcratic institution of the country! Sonia is trying to emulate Indira with a bunch of bootlickers, but she is no Indira!

Sonia's final say on Telangana by M T Raju on 13 Feb 2008

It is a disgrace that the matter of 'Telangana' was left to Sonia Gandhi! How can a matter of such importance left to the hims and fancies of a single individual, who, perhaps, cannot even spell 'Telangana'? Such things can happen only with Congess party, which is a cipher without a member of Nehru family heading it!When Congress tastes defeat-like in Gujarat- the spineless members of the party bark that they are responsible for the defeat and not 'Sonia
