Chennai, January 12 The Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) has sought Congress president Sonia Gandhi's intervention in cancelling the permission granted for holding a function at an auditorium owned by a Congress trust, where Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a meeting on January 14.

TMMK president M H Jawahirullah, in a letter to Sonia, wrote: “You are well aware of the fascist activities of Modi. But it is ironical that the Congress trust which owns Kamaraj Arangam has been let out to Modi to propagate his ideologies.”

The auditorium, owned by a TNCC-run trust, had been rented out for the anniversary function of Tamil magazine Tughlak.
