Ganguly says the manner in which the Indian side has lost recent matches overseas suggests it may have “taken a huge step backward”.
India trails 2-0 in its four-test series against Australia after losing the opening test in Melbourne by 122 runs and then falling by an innings and 68 runs in Sydney. The third test starts Friday in Perth.
India was beaten 4-0 in a test series in England last year, conceding the top world ranking to the opposition.

The way this team is playing it is obvious money has changed hands...Kambli is right too. These pompous BCCI and players are exploiting the cricket addiction of this country because there is no other entertainment outlet for the middle class.
The best player of fast bowling in the world - he has every right to say this and much more!!!!
Such a comment coming from a former captain of India is unfortunate, for many young players may be impressed by it, tho the troika may not. Of course it is in keeping with the mercurial temperament of Ganguly to sound like the fickle-minded press or fans!. It is stupid of Ganguly to make such a shallow remark. Let us hope that the young players learn to develop a mind-set like that of Tendulkar or Dhoni or Dravid or even Sehwag, focusing on the job at hand.
