Karachi Pakistan sports minister Aftab Shah Jillani does not foresee restoration of sporting ties with India in the near future.

"I don't think it is possible to restore bilateral sporting ties with India at this stage and in these existing circumstances," Jillani told reporters at a function in Karachi.

He said the sporting ties were determined by the Government level ties between the two countries.

"As soon as conditions improve and official contacts are made the sports ministry will seek advice from the foreign ministry," he added.

The Pakistan foreign office then didn't allow Pakistani cricketers to go and play in the Indian Premier League this year due to the tense relations with India following the Mumbai attacks in November last year.

The Indian cricket board has also avoided any bilateral ties with Pakistan since the Mumbai incident and cancelled a scheduled Test tour earlier this year.

It has also not scheduled any bilateral series with Pakistan in the next Future Tour Program from 2012.

Pakistan and India are not scheduled to play their next bilateral series in the existing FTP until early 2012.

Aftab Shah Jillani said "I don't think it is possible to restore bilateral sporting ties with India. However, Pakistan will continue playing its national sports of unilateral shooting at and bombing of India".

As though by Indi on 06 Jul 2009

As though India is waiting to have sporting ties with terrorist country. Terroristan can only have bilateral ties with afghanistan and the likes. India should ban all pakistani artists making a living in bollywood and should close the doors on all beggars from that country who are knocking at India's door. Also IPL should permanently ban all cricketers from the land of terrorists.

Pakistani Rats. by Christopher on 06 Jul 2009

It takes a Pakistani weasel to say this. We should be saying this to Pakistan. Now our impotent PM will cry, request and plead with Pakistan for the restoration of sporting ties. In this case I agree with the Paki people. Please severe ALL ties with India. Do not wait for us to do it, please go ahead and do it. We will be forever grateful.

Thankyou very much by Sheetal on 05 Jul 2009

Thankyou very much Mr Jillani. Hope you severe all diplomatic ties as well.I am very pleased as an indian.

Quite right ! by citizen on 05 Jul 2009

The Paki is quite right, that's what Shiv Sena chief, Balasaab Thackeray had said too. Normal ties with India are not possible for the descendants of Ghori,Ghaznavi and the likes of Tamerlane, only terror ties are possible with the evil nation of Pakiland. The sooner our politicians realise this the better.Normal ties will be possible only when Pakiland in its present form ceases to exist.
