Centurion Retired Australian opener Matthew Hayden has hit back at S Sreesanth by describing the Kings XI Punjab pacer as an over-rated bowler who "always loses cool under pressure" following the duo's face-off in their Indian Premier League match in Centurion on Thursday.

"Yeah, I think he is a particularly over-rated bowler. And so he was a great target for us to go at. He always loses his cool under pressure and I think it was a good example of that (in the match)," he said.

Hayden hit Sreesanth for three sixes in the 17th over in his innings of 89 before falling to the same bowler. A furious Sreesanth gave a mouthful to the Australian when he was heading for the dressing room.

Hayden, however, refused to reveal what words Sreesanth had hurled at him.

"You don't want to know. It's just so meaningless. Mate ... I am a Test veteran and a one-day international veteran, I have got nothing to answer to him that's for certain," said Hayden who holds the Orange Cap with 378 runs.

Sreesanth Slap Ban by Ayaz on 10 May 2009

Everyone watching TV could clearly see Sreesanth swearing at Mathew Hayden when he got out. Does Sreesanth deserve more than a slap or what ?

Sreesanth by Pramod on 09 May 2009

I wonder, after expelled from the national team also, he did nt change. He was a pride to Kerala. Now he is a big shame to keralites. He should learn to respect the legends of cricket. Because of their curses, he is going down. As he made a lot of money in his life, he became mad , I think. Please dont select this boy for the national team.It si better for the team and viewers like us.

Well done Hayden by vikas on 09 May 2009

Well done Hayden you shown that you are above that to stoop a level in response to that foolish man's silly antics.

HAYDEN EXCEPTED by KRISHNAN.S on 09 May 2009

Why not restrict 20/20 cricket to players at present involved in the case of cricket.Afterall 20/20 matches or for that matter 50/50 and test cricket are not meant for retired cricketers. The aim in conducting tournaments is not only to enthuse public but also protect good name of cricket by the present cricketers-i.e. by the players who are engaged in playing for their country and also for those who aspire to play cricket.20/20 cricket is not a place to give employment to retired cricketers. If statistics of present I.P.L.matches is taken some retired cricketers are not able to find places in the playing eleven. What do the organizers try to do by employing retired /retiring cricketers most of whom could not create an impression in this tournament

Sreeshanth is not a Human Being by Stalin on 09 May 2009

Sreesanth have no guts at all..Think if Hayden smash Sreesanth, what his condition is? If Hayden give one punch, thats all he will never ever get up in his life..........And dont have any shame at all...Since hayden is smashing his over, he should realize his wrong and try to maintance his over, but he didnt did this...How ashame to our country...If a man goes humble, only he will lifted up....I am sure Sreeshanth will go down in his carrier....

We are ashamed of this guy is from kerala by Varghese Mathai on 09 May 2009

Usually people from kerala adopt to places and situations they are in. Be it rest of India, gulf or western countries, they are always successful. Here is a guy we are ashamed of being called as a keralite. He is born into a very average family and fortunate to get selected into the Indian team for his very average bowling. Greatness of a player always comes from humility and his attitude. Here is a game which is wached by more than a billion people and not sure what he is trying to prove against the batting legend Hyden. If he happens to play again, some one should slap six sixes in all the 4 overs. Yes, hyden has the talent to do that in his day!

Sree is an idiot. by Chetan Singh on 09 May 2009

Sree is a medicre bowler. If he had taken wickets like Mcgrath or Wasim Akram then Sree could be forgiven for his childish behaviour. Forget those 2 greats, Sree is not even in the league of Zaheer and Ishanth. And on top of all Sree is always injury prone and is not at all a threatening bowler. When Bhajji slapped Sree he cried like a girl. Tha was a shameful incident for Sree's macho attitude. Sree is a nincompoop. The media should stop paying any attention to Sree. Ignore him and Sree will get the message.

shree not diserved by pradeep on 10 May 2009

sreeshant is not a player. i am ashamed to be a keralite. i really do ot know how come he is in the team? he is not at all a good player. he is simply a problem maker. we want to watch the good match not with the face of shreeshant. i feel he can go back home and play in the street. i really do not know if he worth for playing in the street.

Sreesanth-a deranged idiot! by Zakir on 08 May 2009

Sreesanth is a mentally deranged idiot who will never ever get into Indian team again. He just doesn"t have the talent to back his attitude. He should be dropped for the next game, kings punjab will be better off with someone else in his place.

SREESHANT BEHAVIOUR by Krishnan on 08 May 2009

Even though I also hail from Kerala I am utterly disappointed by Sreeshant behaviour.Maybe he thinks that since he is the first from the state to play regularly....he can behave as he feels. Moreover the T.V channels in Kerala are also to blame. They create a hype and mention him as Malayali in the Indian team...When you play for India there are no stste wise references allowed.Hope he will mend his ways soon.

Malayalam by Thomas on 08 May 2009

this chettan should learn to be an onion.(Keralites will understand what I mean)

Sreesanth should under rated for his onfield tantrums by guessooh on 08 May 2009

We people in India think Cricket as a passion with the likes of Master blaster Sachin, Iceberg Dhoni, unassuming Raina, and also during IPL I could watch Jayasoorya, Muralidharan, and the great human being Gilcrist and their their body language, good behavior, humble inspite of their world records and the money they have. I learn a lot from their great sportsperson, though I am fortunate to see them only on TV. But Sreesanth being close to them onfile and off field, not learnt the basics of sportsmanship and he should not forget one billion people is watching you on the TV and all at the same time they will curse Sreesanth for his behavior, though he was reprimanded once but they say it is because of injury. But i am sure, this is the last moment of his international outing and let this not play in his personal life, if, it will be a failure.

Absolutely correct by Rakesh on 08 May 2009

Absolutely correct. He don't know about the gentlemen game

Not actually by Atindra on 08 May 2009

In last T20 world cup same Sreesanth did shut Hayden's mouth. After retiring Hayden may take IPL seriously but I dont think Sreesanth in his first match can be blamed.

Sreesanth the problem child of Ibdian Cricket by M.V.Muthu on 08 May 2009

Sreesanth hasn't grown out of his juvenile delinquent attitude even after being sidelined for over a year on physically unfit ground. He can pick up a thing or two fro his team-mate Abdullah how well one can perform without indulging in tantrums. IPL / BCCI/ Kings XI Punjab should firmly tell him to mend his manners.

sreeshant is no good by kartik on 08 May 2009
