Other than his wife Gauri, daughter Suhana and son Aryan, SRK's friends including Arjun Rampal and Hrithik Roshan also flew down to Dubai to celebrate New Year's Eve together, alongwith their respective families.

Even producer Ritesh Sidhwani, who is riding high on the success of 'Don 2', is in Dubai with his family. “A night with boys and their Toys... Racing around on Beach buggies @iamsrk villa last night... Too Much Fun... Thank you Shah had a blast,” Ritesh said.

Actor R Madhavan is also in Dubai with his wife. "What a lovely time of the year in Dubai. Weather is great and most of my friends and family are here - Wish you all a fantastic last day in 2011," Madhavan tweeted yesterday.

Dubai seemed to be the hottest destination among stars for new year celebrations. Actor Manoj Bajpayee tweeted, "Dubai is the new Goa... And Goa is the new Nallasopara for new year eve celebrations!!"

While a number of stars flocked to Dubai, Priyanka Chopra left for an undisclosed seaside location for her ‘secret getaway’, saying, “Taking off world... Will try posting pics!”

She did post a pic of the sea later, writing, "Oh... I could vegetate on the beach forever."

Actress Katrina Kaif, whose latest item song 'Chikni Chameli' has become quite a rage, celebrated the new year with her family in London.

International R&B singer Akon, who ruled the charts with the hit song 'Chammak Challo' from SRK's 'Ra. One', was in India for the New Year's Eve.

“I'm partying in India for New Years Eve and Vages (sic) on New Years Day! This year we celebrate for being survivors! 2012 hard year!!” he tweeted.

And actress Raima Sen was in attendance at Akon's performance in Pune. She posted a photo from the venue, with the caption, “With Akon in Pune for New Year.”

Bollywood stars like Vivek Oberoi, actress Mallika Sherawat, Neha Dhupia, Jacqueline Fernandez and music composer Vishal and Shekhar performed at different suburban five star hotels last night.
