The scion of the Congress party while asserting that across the political divide there was support for the deal took on the saffron party to apparently suggest BJP was divided on the deal when he said "there are people in BJP and other parties who are 100 per cent for the deal."
"The young leaders across the party lines who have talked to him have been supportive of the deal. I have talked to many young leaders across the parties. They support the deal and are convinced about it. They say they don't understand why their leadership is opposed to it," he added.
The Congress general secretary further said "And when we explain the deal to them they say it’s absolutely crystal clear, you are right. So, inside some of these organisations also there is a feeling that the direction is only political. It is not only Rahul Gandhi but every young person in the country is bound to support the deal because it is going to change the future face of the country," Gandhi said playing the youth card.
Gandhi's remarks quickly evoked sharp condemnation from BJP when its Spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy said in New Delhi "Rahul Gandhi should stop daydreaming and stop being childish. Instead of hallucinating on the present political situation, he (Gandhi) should name the young political MPs," Rudy added.
Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha said even if there are differences within the BJP it was an internal matter and not for the Congress to make any pronouncements. Sinha also accused the Congress and the PMO of directly "spreading disinformation."

Nuclear dealThe other day Mr. Rahul Gandhi, one of the general secretary of the Congress expressed that the nucler deal is a very good one and the future generations will benefit (yes-he will be benefitted by the deal. When experts on the subject are breaking their head as to how to go about it, he feels it is pretty easy as he was mesmerized by his PM and his mother that the deal is very good for India and bla...bla... so that is enough for him. No need to go through the agreement. They should understand that they are binding to a deal 100 crores of Indian people for 30 year. I would suggest Mr. Raghul and his mother to go through( if interested) the article my Mr. Sudarshan, Executive Director, Indian Express on 18th July, 2008 as to how difficult it is to ink the deal and the consequences, delay in getting the benefit and the enormous money involved apart from the risks. He also says that Young BJP MPs are also agreeable to this deal-an immatured statement.
Rahul Gandhi is not childish, he is new to politics and got enough exposure than anybody else in this country. He is true. India will be in the dark continent if we do not sign up the deal. Yes Rahul has not done anything wrong. When chiled behaves like Chiled, there is nothing wrong. But when a politican behaves like a chield, it is not amusing. If he can discuss N-deal with individual MPs of opposition, what is stopping GOI to place whole thing on table in the house. N-deal is good for India in so many ways. It will provide fuel for the civilian N-plants but if it is placing moretorium on India's right to research on weapons, it is no good. Even USA has not taken such restrictions while discussion such issue with USSR or Russia of the day. This is not issue of individual but a national interest. In past congress is known for compromising national interest....e.g. Division of country, Taskant agreement with Pakistan, Border issue with Bangladesh, Infiltration of Bangladesh in India, Kashmir and article 370 of constitution, Simla agreement, Doling out Tibet to China,....one can find tons of issue where congress has written of India's security interest. Come on what Rahul says has merit, it is true for congress member too who got elected on personal merits and not on cast, creed, religion calculatins!

It is possible that young BJP MPs are more interested in money than the interest of the country. So they are just like MM Singh and his cronies are prepared to sell India to USA for a good price, but it is also true that a lot of Congress MPs are against MM Singh and his pro-American behaviour since 1992. You seem to have no clue, China, Russia too has 123 Agreement with US, and that agreement is despite them being signatories to CTBT and NPT. What India gets better then them is a right to stock nuclear fuel.

Rahul should speak for himself and not for others unless he represents them through agreement. Why? Because, otherwise anybody can say anything on others' behalf. BJP can say the same about Congress members too. Speaking of that, before venturing into others' territory, if Rahul is so confident of his party members, he should ask his mom Sonia not to issue a whip to them for voting on the floor. The Indo US Nuclear Deal will not feed poor of India or supply electricity or give petrol or recognition to India like Nuclear Power or Membership in UN Security Council. I dont know hoe Media, Intellectuals , Scientists UPA, Congress are misleading Indians. Is it because UPA and Sonia had struck deal with US administration headed by Bush ? Any commission received and Bush is threatening to sign this ? Every one knows how Sonia and Natwar Singh received Commission from Saddam Huseein in Food for Oil Program and UN stopped investigations only after UPA and Manmohan Singh stopped criticising US and Bush. Sahmeless ploticians particularly of SP are supporting for their vested interests. No heavens will fall if India renegotiates and signs this deal with post Bush administration. Let UPA solve poverty, energy crisis and inflation on priority. Let us use our natural resources like Gas from Krishna Godavari basin.
Just to expose some silly arguments here: If the nuclear deal will not feed poor people of India neither did the nuclear tests. No foreign or defence policy can directly feed people. Secondly who do you want to be friends with in the world. The USA - a democractic country which is powerful. Russia - a former power which could not take care of it's people and so disintegrated. Remeber it was once USSR but now is 17 or so independent countries and now doubles the cost of an aircraft carrier it sells to us. Or as the Commies would like - with China which supresses its own people and occupies our territory. Why do so many Indians and chinese emeigrate every year to US - because it is an open and friendly society which allows people to prosper.
