Bangalore Infosys mentor N R Narayana Murthy called for a halt to "comments" and "second guessing" on Satyam and leave it to its new board and employees to revive the company.

Murthy told reporters on the sidelines of India's technology leaders conference in Bangalore that he had stopped commenting after the new set of directors took over Satyam to revive it. "There is no need to discuss on issues concerning the impact Satyam will have on the IT industry," he said.

"Satyam Computer has a new board of Directors in Kiran Karnik, Deepak Parekh and C Achuthan and it is best to communicate with them," he said.

Now that the board has been appointed, "rest of us should stop second guessing. The trio has a lot of experience. They have handled major crisis. I would rather leave it at that," Murthy said.

"We should give confidence to Satyam, its employees and leaders by distancing ourselves from making comments," the Executive Chairman of one of the largest software exporters and the NASDAQ-listed company said.

Asked what lessons the IT industry could learn from the Satyam crisis, he said the new Board of Directors need a couple of days to assess the situation and take decisions. "The rest of us should stop meddling and giving opinions".

On the future of Satyam, he said it was for the Board members to discuss it as they have "good ideas".

He ducked a query on whether Infosys would show interest if Satyam was up for sale. "They have a board of directors. They are eminent," he said.

Interim Board by Sudhakaran on 15 Jan 2009

Actually if we can do something to kill all mosquitos in chennai and also ban sun from coming over chennai it would be good A board should be formed for that, even if it is made out of plywood it is fine. NR can give some money for the board and sit on it if he wishes

N Murthy on Sathyam by JKS on 15 Jan 2009

Murthy should shut up and do not think he is so much clean. It would be worthwhile to know how in a span of 1-2 years a company which took about 20 years to make $1 billion is makinga billion extra every quarter.

N Murthy on Sathyam by sunny on 15 Jan 2009

I guess, you should be worth a lot more to say anything about a "common man enterpreneur" ... Pls be careful of the words you choose to speak...

Media Speculation! by Chilukuri on 15 Jan 2009

Great! Mr Murthy spoke of my mind or just what I commented on press about interim CEO!The Indian media is great speculator, because it has loose mindset where it crosses it's boundaries and takes no responsibilities for its actions or words as it has done in Arushi case and Mumbai attacks!

THE COMMENTS OF MR. NARAYANAMURTHY ARE VERY DIGNIFIED AND HE SHINES AS A ROLE MODEL FOR ALL THE NATIONAL LEADERS IN INDUSTRY AS WELL POLITICS WHICH ENCOURAGES UNWARRANTED COMMENTS OF AN ISSUE LEADING TO MESS IN PUBLIC.LET THE TV MEDIAS TAKE HIS ADVICE STRICTLY WHILE PRESENTING THE CRISIS TO THE PUBLIC.

RE:Mr.Murthy's comment on Sathyam by Padmasani on 16 Jan 2009

Hi,I fully support what Mr.Murthy's views. We Indians think that we should comment on everything irrespective of its implication unlike countries like US. The need of the hour is allow Sathyam directors to do their job and concerned agencies to prosecute the culprits.
