Surat One of the defence lawyers in the Surat schoolgirl gangrape case has demanded Narco Analysis test on the victim and the boy who was accompanying her when the crime was committed.

Babu Pathan, lawyer of accused Abubakar Memon, filed an application to this effect before the court of the judicial magistrate on Monday, demanding that the test be conducted at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Gandhinagar. The application will be taken up for hearing on July 9.

In the application, Pathan has stated that he found contradiction in the complaint, which was lodged on the basis of the victim’s statement. He said that neither the girl nor her friend was forced into the car and the boy had himself told the three accused that he wanted to have sex with his “girlfriend” inside the car, which the girl refused later.

“Even during the rape, neither the girl nor her boyfriend had shown any resistance. The complaint was earlier registered with the Athwalines police station and later transferred to the Khatodara police station,” Pathan said.

He added: “We want to know the relationship between the girl and the boy who was standing with her during the time of the incident. If Narco Analysis test is conducted on the two, many more details will come out. It will also help the police in investigations.”

Apart from Abubakar, the police had arrested Saiyed Shahid and Saiyed Tarik for allegedly kidnapping the girl and raping her in a moving car. At present, the three accused are in judicial custody at the Surat sub-jail.
