Sushil felicitated at akhara

Chandigarh, September 20 Olympian Sushil Kumar was felicitated by ‘Gulzar Akhara’ near Zirakpur on Saturday. "Sushil has not only brought laurels to the country but inspired the younger generation to take up wrestling and make a name for them in this sport." said Ranbir Singh Kundu, organiser and coach of Gulzar Akhara.

Sushil was accompanied by two coaches Ram Chander and Yashbir Singh of Satpal Akhara. As many as 40 wrestlers from the akhara welcomed their hero on an open jeep. The function was attended by many persons from adjoining villages. Apart from the akhara, State Bank of India also honoured the star grappler with a memento and a bouqet. Sushil also interacted with the wrestlers shared tips with them. The akhara has been a nursery for the budding wrestlers and have produced wrestlers who have done well in various junior international tournaments.
