Pune, January 7 Symbiosis Centre for Management & Human Resources Development (SCMHRD) has roped in Silicon Valley-based Savvion, a global business process management (BPM) company, to offer BPM courses at its institute in the city. It is the first institute to offer such a course in India, says SCMHRD director K S Subramanian.

As any industry grows, it is required to streamline the day-to-day activities to improve business performance and simultaneously reduce costs. Here comes the role of BPM professionals. As per the experts, the demand for the BPM professionals has gone up by seven to eight times over the last two years. “As many companies will require the professionals to help manage their processes, the course will provide better orientation for the HR people,” says Subramanian. “The first batch will start from January 10 as a part of the MBA course. But professionals from corporate houses can do the two-and-a-half month course separately.”

Adds Kaushal Mashruwala, managing director, Savvion India, “Software service vendors like Infosys, Patni, Wipro and TCS have expressed the need for BPM professionals. This course will help many of these firms to get ready access to qualified resources.”

What will the course offer? Savvion will provide Symbiosis the course contents and relevant educational software licenses to conduct the courses, and its latest released products. The course will also cover training on Savvion’s widely used Savvion Process Modeler.
