Melbourne, May 6: Barely four months after quitting cricket citing 'mental and physical exhaustion', Australian pacer Shaun Tait said he has started recovering from the stress and is working towards a comeback next season.

The slinger, who "hated cricket" at the time of taking the break, said he was beginning to remotivate himself.

"I am starting to think about cricket again, which I didn't do at all after I made the decision," Tait was quoted as saying by The Sydney Morning Herald.

"It would be pretty safe to say I will be around the traps next season," the 25-year-old added.

Tait had quit the game in the middle of the Test series against India in January after coming a cropper at the fastest track the world -- the WACA in Perth.

But he has been backed to the hilt by Cricket Australia which retained him in the list of centrally contracted players besides assisting him in his rehabilitation.

The pacer is currently training with the squad selected for the tour of West Indies starting with a Test series on May 22.
